It might look like monster hands should occur about 2x as often as they do in Hold’em (due to Omaha having four cards vs. two in Hold’em), but this is not how it actually works. With four cards there are many more combinations that can be made than when playing with two cards. For new Omaha players it is easy to dismiss the likelihood of anyone actually holding a huge hand, but don’t be surprised when you make a call and they actually did have quads, or something along those lines. Omaha can be a very frustrating game, there is no doubt about it, but your troubles will be reduced as soon as you learn how to make strong folds on a consistent basis.
