How Lonis Turned Three Sprint Final Tables Into a Title

Every PGT Sprint event so far has been a $5,300 No-Limit Hold’em tournament. Lonis has made the final table in each one. He opened with a 6th-place finish, then took 3rd in Event #2 for $51,350.

Close calls only pay so much, though. Event #3 finished the job and pushed his cashes across the three events past $175,000.

The $101,000 score is the 64th six-figure cash of his career. At 30 years old, the 2025 Card Player Player of the Year now has more than $35.2 million in career earnings.

Alex Foxen Bursts the Bubble as Lonis Leads the Final Seven

Only 12 of the 78 entries made the money. Alex Foxen, who headlined our PGT Last Chance Series winners roundup, was the unlucky one, busting in 13th with nothing to show for it.

Sean Perry was the first to bust in the money, falling in 12th. Cherish Andrews (11th), Martin Zamani (10th) and Cary Katz (9th) followed him to the rail.

Sam Soverel’s 8th-place exit set the seven-handed final table. Lonis held the chip lead going in.

Hendrix Falls in 3rd as Lonis’ Pocket Sixes Hold

Natalie Ferguson went first at the final table, earning $15,600 in 7th. Patrick Leonard, Jim Collopy and Brandon Sunshine fell next, in that order, which left three players chasing the title.

Adam Hendrix brought serious pedigree to three-handed play. He finished 6th in the 2025 WSOP Main Event and has nearly $11.1 million in career cashes.

His run ended with A♣Q♠ against Lonis’ 6♠6♦. The pocket pair held through the board, and Hendrix collected $50,700 for 3rd.

A Heads-Up Deal Before Lonis Flops the Winning Flush

Lonis took a chip lead of nearly 4-to-1 into heads-up play against Sam Laskowitz. The two struck a deal before playing on.

Deals like this come down to stack sizes and payout jumps. Once the numbers were settled, the cards still had to finish the job.

The final hand saw Lonis holding A♣4♣ against Laskowitz’s A♠6♥. The board ran 10♣5♣2♣9♣3♠, giving Lonis an ace-high flush on the flop and the title.

Laskowitz earned $78,400 for 2nd. That came six days after he finished runner-up in the final Poker Masters event. He has now been one spot short twice in a week.

Lonis Joins Rheem and Wilson on the 2026 Sprint Winners List

Lonis is the third different winner of the Sprint. Chino Rheem, already in the headlines after the PGT PLO Series, won the opener for $119,600.

Brock Wilson took Event #2 for $110,600 from a 79-entry field. That was his fifth PGT title of 2026.

Why Lonis’ Sprint Run Shapes the 2026 Player of the Year Race

This was Lonis’ 2nd win and 19th final table of 2026. He has now earned nearly $5 million in Card Player POY earnings this year. Those numbers put him 4th in the standings, a year after he won the award.

On the PGT side, the 164 points from this win moved him inside the top 40 of the season standings.

The series pauses over Halloween weekend before it resumes. Lonis has made all three Sprint final tables so far, and the rest of the field will be hoping he doesn’t make it four.
