The reigning world champion Michael Mizrachi is the latest new name to join GGPoker as a Global Ambassador and will take part in the 2025 WSOP Paradise festival wearing the GG patch. It’s a major signing for a brand constantly growing in the poker world as its biggest force. Mizrachi himself seems delighted with the move and will doubtless inspire a new generation of ‘Grinders’ to take to the live and online felt under the GGPoker banner.

World Champion Ecstatic to Sign for GG

“I’ve spent my entire career proving myself against the toughest competition. Joining GGPoker is the perfect stage.”

Michael Mizrachi’s ascent to GGPoker Global Ambassador is, in some ways happening quite late in his career. At 44 years of age, Mizrachi has already won eight WSOP bracelets four Poker Players Championship titles and is perhaps at the peak of his achievements comparatively late in his career compared to some. However, his age bracket fits perfectly with attracting the kind of player that GGPoker seek – strong players with means to compete who want to win big.

When he was growing up, Mizrachi originally wanted to qualify as a doctor. However, in what may have seemed a crazy decision, the future world champion dropped out of college to play poker on a full-time basis, just like his brother Robert does to this day. A father of three, Mizrachi lives in Hollywood, Florida and dominated the final table of this year’s WSOP Main Event. He can’t wait to get going on GGPoker.

“I’ve spent my entire career proving myself against the toughest competition. Joining GGPoker – the biggest poker room in the world – is the perfect stage to take on the best and keep raising the bar,” he said in a statement.

In an age where poker operators are seeking new and exciting ways of ‘making poker fun again’, Mizrachi could be seen in some quarters as a latecomer to the movement and a product of another age of the game. But to many, he represents exactly where poker is right now, in an age of growth and diversity.

Where Will ‘The Grinder’ Fit in GGPoker Team?

Michael Mizrachi a.k.a. ‘The Grinder’ has already been one of poker’s greatest ambassadors ever. He plays the game based on instinct, with an infectious enthusiasm, a fiery passion, and always sits down with the intention of winning every pot. He’s not using solvers to work out what to do at the poker table.

Not since the heyday of Full Tilt Poker has Mizrachi been a poker ambassador. 20 years on, Mizrachi will at least see some familiar faces on the GGPoker team, with Daniel Negreanu, a long-time rival as a PokerStars player, chief amongst them.

“Michael Mizrachi is poker royalty,” said Kid Poker after the announcement. “To achieve the ‘Double’ – winning the Poker Players Championship and the Main Event in the same summer – is a feat we may never see again. That kind of enduring greatness belongs on the GGTeam. We are thrilled to welcome The Grinder and look forward to an even more exciting future together.”

Others such as German high roller legend Fedor Holz and Brazil’s tournament crusher Felipe Ramos will be ecstatic to have another big name on board. Mizrachi’s Las Vegas 2025 WSOP Main Event win for $10 million – winning his eighth career bracelet – saw him inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame after an emergency vote between the living members of the HOF. Seeing Phil Hellmuth and Phil Ivey welcome Mizrachi in the Thunderdome at the Horseshoe Las Vegas will live long in the memory.

This all took place after Mizrachi’s epic $50,000 Poker Players Championship victory for a record-breaking fourth PPC title. No-one has won that amount. It’s highly likely that no-one will ever draw level with Mizrachi in that regard.

The Future of the Game

“I was looking for a partner that matches my ambition, and GGPoker is simply the future of the game.”

Mizrachi took to the socials in the aftermath of the announcement and couldn’t wait to tell his fans and potential new players that he was behind GGPoker.

“GGPoker’s the greatest poker site right now,” he said. “It’s the biggest and the best, and GG, it’s Grinder’s game, baby! After winning the Main Event and going straight into the Hall of Fame, I was looking for a partner that matches my ambition, and GGPoker is simply the future of the game. I’m ready to represent GGPoker globally and bring the passion of ‘The Grinder’ to the online felt.”

Mizrachi is getting straight into the action, as after playing the World Tournament of Slots in The Bahamas, a quick trip to Colombia will precede a visit to Brazil then Panama for the WSOP Circuit series.

“Then [it’s] back to Vegas for Grinder’s Game,” Mizrachi described. “I’m definitely going to WSOP Paradise between December 4–18, and I’m winning the Super Main Event!”

After the past few months, no-one would bet against Mizrachi racking up another big win at the Atlantis Resort in The Bahamas. His passion is making poker as much fun as it can be. In this way, he doesn’t see himself as being a traditional brand ambassador.

“I want to change the game in different ways,” he said. “When people play poker, I want them to have an experience and have fun because I’m tired of the hoodies and glasses. We’re going to make poker fun for people to play. No solvers, no nothing. Just instincts, feel, and applying pressure.”

The Grinder is a Hall of Famer, eight-time WSOP bracelet winner and the four-time PPC champion. Mizrachi has over $20 million in live cashes and has cashed over 100 times at the World Series of Poker alone. If he can use his personality to welcome millions more players to the game, it is hard to come up with players who have had the same effect on the game of poker as Michael Mizrachi.

Look back on the moment Michael Mizrachi won the 2025 World Championship as he destroyed the few remaining players in just an hour of poker action on the final day.
