Getting the better of stars of the felt such as Isaac Haxton, Sean Winter and Jesse Lonis, Chino Rheem finished top of the charts, both in the final event and the series overall. Collecting 597 PGT Points towards the end-of-season PokerGO $1m Freeroll Championships, Rheem’s success came at the expense of Bryce Yockey, who finished as runner-up after a gutsy display saw him fall just short.

A New Champion in PLO

A very familiar face won the 2025 PokerGO Tour PLO Series II this week, as the American pro David ‘Chino’ Rheem captured his record-breaking third PokerGO Tour series title. Winning the 2025 PGT PLO Series II, Rheem cashed for $798,000, one of the biggest totals in recent series. By winning the second PGT PLO Series of 2025, Rheem made history inside the PokerGO Studio at ARIA on the Las Vegas Strip.

Chino Rheem’s prize at the end of the series? By topping the leaderboard, he took home both the PGT Gold Cup and the PGT Passport $10,000 in buy-ins to other PGT events. The PGT PLO Series has been extremely well attended this week by players who love the ‘four card game’.

The role of honor in the PGT PLO Series history books read like a who’s who of Pot Limit Omaha poker legends. Both Lautaro Guerra and Daniel Geeng won titles in 2023, while the Finnish player Samuli Sipila and PGT favorite Matthew Wantman claimed leaderboard victories in 2024. ‘The Gorilla’ and Jesse Lonis (2025), who were all crowned previous PGT PLO Series champions. Rheem put on an impressive performance at the PGT PLO Series, culminating in his win of Event #10 for $510,000. Rheem cashed a total of seven times for $798,900 and made four final tables, including a runner-up finish to Lonis in the opening event.

Legends Take Trophies Across Series

The PGT PLO Series II got off to a good start for Rheem but it could still have gone even better. Jesse Lonis won the opening event for $175,000 as Rheem finished in second place. There was a win for Alex Foxen in Event #2 for his 11th PGT title, becoming a record breaker in his own right after passing 10,000 PGT points.

After victories for Erik Seidel, Ben Lamb and two for Bryce Yockey in Event #6 and Event #9, the latter looked most likely to go on from his position in the leaderboard and claim the ultimate overall victory. Indeed, Yockey held the lead into the final event of the series but with three players left, each one of them had a chance to end up as top dog.

After Portuguese player Joao Simao went in third place, Rheem’s victory in the final showdown ensured his record-breaking score would claim not only the last bit title, winning $510,000 for taking down Event #10, but the overall championship. It was Chino Rheem’s fifth PGT title of the season and the 28th PGT cash of his year so far, the most by anyone in 2025.

A Growing Legacy for Chino

Chino Rheem is now the only player in PGT history with three series wins, having been crowned the PGT Mixed Games champion in 2023 and 2025 and now the winner of the PGT PLO Series II in Las Vegas. He also sits in 77th place on the All-Time Money List according to The Hendon Mob, with over $18.22m in live tournament cashes alone.

At the PokerGO Studio, Rheem is a legend, with eight PGT titles, 37 final tables, and 61 cashes meaning he’s won over $5.47 million at the PGT tables over his career, amounting to almost a third of his winnings. In this series, Rheem banked 597 PGT points to be crowned the PGT PLO Series champion, gained once he made heads-up play in the final event.

Now in second place on the 2025 PGT Leaderboard which will automatically qualify the top 40 players to the $1m Freeroll Championship, Rheem is on 2,340 PGT points for the year, ahead of Sam Soverel (2,257), Bryce Yockey (1,037) and Isaac Haxton (1,329) among others.
