Brock Wilson amassed almost $400,000 in winnings across four events of the 10-tournament 2026 PokerGO Cup. Winning Events #4 and #6, Wilson took the bulk of his winnings in those two events but a min-cash in Event #5 and a cash in sixth place in the final event of the series sealed victory for the eventual winner.

Lichtenberger Seals Final Event Win

While Brock Wilson’s overall victory in the series grabbed the headlines, a lot of credit should go to Andrew ‘Chewy’ Lichtenberger for his win in Event #10. Costing $15,000 to play, it was the biggest buy-in event of the series and featured 52 total entries, creating a prize pool of $780,000 and a top prize of over a quarter of a million dollars.

Just eight players were paid in the event, and the money bubble was pivotal. While Filipp Khavin was already out of the tournament and couldn’t cash, he had the top position on the leaderboard. Brock Wilson needed to cash to overtake him and become the PokerGO Cup champion. That was confirmed when Chino Rheem busted in ninth place on the bubble and Wilson’s positive result put him into the winner’s circle.

With six left, Wilson was eliminated, his king-six starting and ending his final hand behind the ace-seven of Andrew Lichtenberger. Canadian player John Krpan was the next to go, busting in fifth place for $62,400 before the former WSOP Main Event winner Joe McKeehen’s short-stacked crusade finally fell off the ladder in fourth for $78,000. Lichtenberger was laying waste to everyone at the final table, and after taking out Arthur Peacock in third for $109,200, Chewy beat Sam Soverel heads-up to complete the set, busting every single adversary of his at the final table for a top prize of $257,400.

“I always try to do my best and just put one foot in front of the other,” Chewy told PokerNews post-win. “I think it’s important to be resilient as a tournament player. It’s very unhelpful to play poker in a way where you feel entitled to win, so I just try to accept everything that happens to me, and just to extract whatever beneficial lesson or effect from anything that occurs.”

That productive mindset was key as Chewy became champion.

How Did Brock Wilson Become PokerGO Cup Champion?

Cashing four times across the series, Brock Wilson won a total of $390,220 in the series, more than trebling his investments. Although he didn’t win anything at all until taking down Event #4, edging out his fellow American David Coleman heads-up to win an ICM-adjusted $112,720 top prize.

As well as min-cashes in Event #5 and – eventually – the final event, Event #6 was perhaps the key moment in Wilson’s run to becoming the leaderboard winner. Beating Shannon Shorr heads-up, Wilson claimed a victory worth $210,000 and although Filipp Khavin’s win in Event #8 flipped the script, Wilson’s late, late result meant that he changed the narrative at the perfect moment.

After taking down almost $400,000 in prize money, Wilson put himself up to $13 million in live tournament winnings, as well as running up the PGT leaderboard to 4th position out of the many dozens who are racing to finish in the top 40. Last season’s $1m PGT Championship freeroll saw Chad Eveslage take the mantle from Jeremy Ausmus who won it a year earlier.

After a stunning PokerGO Cup series, Brock Wilson has put himself in a terrific position to dominate the leaderboard in 2026.
