Benny Glaser Claims Record-Extending 17th WCOOP Title

The British poker legend Benny Glaser bagged his 17th WCOOP ttle last night, as he further grew his reputation in the online poker streets. The nine-time WSOP bracelet winner, who came second in the Player of the Year race in 2025 after winning three bracelets, took down the WCOOP Event #44 (High) tournament, winning the $1,050-entry 8-Game event for a top prize of $21,400.

For many years, Benny Glaser has played under the pseudonym ‘RunGodlike’ on PokerStars. Last night, he won his record-extending 17th WCOOP title in the $1,050-entry 8-Game Event #44, and in doing so made sure that he has won a title in every season except 2024 as the king of WCOOP. The World Championship of Online Poker takes place on PokerStars every year and Glaser is the biggest winner in the format.

Glaser Adds 8-Game Title to His Legend

Eight years ago, Benny ‘RunGodlike’ Glaser played his first World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) event. Since then, no-one has won more titles in the format and last night, Glaser was at it again. Taking home a top prize of $21,400 in the Event #44 (High) $1,050 8-Game tournament, Glaser beat Finland’s Markus ‘O.Klunssila’ Ristola heads-up for the win.

After the final table, which Glaser described as “a battle”, he thanked fans for their support, adding that he considered the victory as “really nice for some morale for the rest of the series”. It’s hard to imagine Glaser needing any. In the past nine seasons of the WCOOP, Glaser has won titles in all years bar one – 2024.

In 2023, Glaser won a record seven titles in a single series, a run that is unlikely to be surpassed, even by the man himself. This was not only his first WCOOP  title of the 2026 series but the first one he’s claimed overall in 8-Game, a comparatively new poker format which tests mixed game players’ skills in eight different variants of the game.

Records Tumble Again for British Star

Across his 17 WCOOP victories, Benny Glaser has shown above all that he is a master of several poker disciplines. Back in 2018, his maiden win came in a $55-entry event.  By comparison, the biggest prize Glaser has won came in 2023 when he took down the$320 NLHE 6-Max Freezeout event, outlasting 1,174 other entries to claim $55,706 up top.

Across his 17 titles, its certainly handy that 10 of them have come in ‘high’ entry events, with five WCOOP-M (Medium) and just two WCOOP-L (Low) victories. Of all of his 17 WCOOP titles, Glaser has won three in both No Limit Hold’em and H.O.R.S.E., while just two wins have come in Pot Limit Omaha. Another two wins have come in NLO8, while Razz, Badugi, PLO8, 5-Card Draw, 8-Game, and both 2-7 Single and Triple Draw events have each garnered the Brit a single WCOOP title.

From WSOP Gold to WCOOP Glory

Back in the summer of 2026, Benny Glaser won a WSOP bracelet, but it wasn’t any bracelet. The $50,000 Poker Players Championship is the one that any poker player who has ever dabbled in PLO or 2-7 Triple Draw wants to win. It tests the best players in the world at their ability to mix up all the different variants of poker and come out on top. Previous winners include Daniel Negreanu and Michael Mizrachi. This year’s winner was Benny Glaser for $1.34m.

Over the course of his long and glittering career, Britain’s Benny Glaser has amassed nine WSOP bracelets, a now record 17 WCOOP titles and even 12 SCOOP (Spring Championship of Online Poker) titles. A place in the Poker Hall of Fame when he turns 40 seems inevitable.

Another WCOOP title? Well, it’s merely a matter of time.
