Zynga, the social gambling company, is planning to offer the mobile version of its older poker game, Zynga Poker, as fans have been demanding it for a long time.
The company launched a version of mobile Zynga Poker in September after testing it for several months. But several fans said that they preferred the older version, which the company was planning to shelve. Zynga therefore decided to launch Zynga Poker Classic for mobile devices.
Ever since it was launched in 2007, Zynga has had over 350 million players. The company has a large number of poker customers, and many of them said that they did not like the newer game although its graphics are more realistic than the older one. At the same time, Zynga Poker for iOS occupies the 26th place on the lists of top-grossing games for iOS devices and the 8th place on the lists of casino games for iOS devices, which indicates that the new game is not a complete failure. It just wasn’t a big thing for Zynga to offer two separate games for two separate varieties of fans, especially as players can move their chips from version to version for an enhanced gaming experience.
Writing in a blog post, Jon Liu, Zynga Poker’s vice president (games), said that the company takes player feedback very seriously. He wrote: “We value all of our player communities and want you to know that we take the introduction of new products and features very seriously. We have heard from many of you that you like the look and feel of the new Zynga Poker, while others miss the classic design and play style of the original game.”
Zynga Poker Classic for iOS will appear in a few weeks and the Android version will shortly follow. Players can seamlessly move their history, profile, and poker chips from one version to the other. Liu said that the company wants to fuel its customers’ “passion for poker” irrespective of whether they want to play the new innovative Zynga Poker or the older Zynga Poker Classic. He said: “By giving you two poker games, you now have the option to choose how you play.”
While the older version has cartoonish graphics, the newer version gives players the feeling that they are playing at a live Vegas-style poker room. The graphics are three-dimensional, crisp, and crystal clear and the audio effects are lifted directly from a live gaming floor.
