The World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) 2011 will be held at the Casino Barriere de Cannes Croisette and Hotel Majestic Barriere at Cannes in France this year. This prestigious event will also have a new sponsor in, replacing Betfair. In an official press release, which was issued on Wednesday, Dominique Desseigne, the CEO of Groupe Lucien Barriere, said that this arrangement strengthens the bond between offline and online poker and that Groupe Lucien Barriere is proud of being associated with WSOPE, the world’s most prestigious live poker event.
The world’s first Cannes WSOPE event will have seven qualifying centers in Toulose, Lille, Nice, Enghien, Dinard, Bordeaux, and Trouville. When the WSOPE finally reaches Cannes, the participants will be placed at 75 tables. The WSOPE will include seven bracelet events this year, instead of the usual five.
