Despite the postponement of the traditional live festival, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) has made sure players still get the chance to chase for bracelet glory this summer by putting together a massive online series, featuring 85 bracelet events. The festival is well underway on WSOP.com, but the bulk of the action takes place on GGPoker, starting July 16!
The recent partnership between GGPoker and the WSOP has made it possible for non-US players to take a shot at the highly-coveted gold bracelet, a first in the festival’s long history.
The GGPoker schedule is made up of a wide variety of events in terms of buy-ins, structure, and formats to accommodate as many players as possible. The highlight events usually come with big entry fees, making it difficult to enter for players with limited bankroll. If you’re on a budget but are on the hunt for great value, the events below might be what you’re looking for:
Big 50
The biggest-guaranteed events on the GGPoker schedule come at prices that are too high for the average players. However, there are also events that still feature massive prize pools of at least $1,000,000 for buy-ins of less than $500.
One of them is the BIG 50, the lowest buy-in event of the festival. For an entry fee of just $50, you can win a share of the $1,000,000 guarantee. The event runs from August 16-23, with two Day 1s taking place each day.
The BIG 50 tournament debuted at the 2019 WSOP, but with a $500 buy-in. It was designed to celebrate the festival’s 50th anniversary and eventually created a new record for the largest-ever single tournament in history after attracting more than 28,000 entrants.
The Opener & WSOP MILLION$
The WSOP festival kicks off with a bang via The Opener on July 19. You can buy-in for just $100 and take part in this massive guaranteed prize pool. On the final day of the series (September 6), you still have one last chance to win a share of $2M in guaranteed prize pools, via the WSOP MILLION$. Like the opening event, it also requires only $100 to enter.
Both The Opener and the WSOP MILLION$ make for great-value events if you want to walk away with huge winnings without spending too much of your bankroll.
COLOSSUS & PLOSSUS
You can also add Event #10: COLOSSUS and Event #11: PLOSSUS to your GGPoker schedule. Both events come with a buy-in of $400, with $3M and $1M up for grabs respectively from each tournament.
The COLOSSUS event alone features 14 starting flights beginning July 20. Day 2 takes place on July 26, during which a winner will be crowned. Players are given 50,000 in starting chips, played in 13-minute levels. PLOSSUS also plays out on July 26.
GGMasters WSOP Edition
There’s also a $150 buy-in GGMasters WSOP Edition, which features $1,000,000 in guarantees, scheduled for August 9. The tournament adopts a freezeout format, giving you just one shot at victory, with a three-hour late registration period.
GGPoker WSOP Silk Road
Micro-stakes players, be aware that your limited bankroll won’t be an issue if you want to take part in some of the big-guaranteed events of the series. Satellites costing just $1.08 are running until August 31, giving you the chance to win a ticket to the marquee events on the schedule, including the $5,000 WSOP Main Event.
The WSOP Silk Road promotion will give away millions worth of tickets to the big tournaments via direct satellites! Check out the complete details on the GGPoker client.
The ongoing online series on WSOP.com has seen a lot of players walking away with their first gold bracelets. But the festival is exclusive only for players based in New Jersey and Nevada. If you’re not currently residing in the said locations, you can head over to GGPoker and begin your bracelet journey less than a week from now!
