The World Poker Tour (WPT) announced a few days back that it will add a brand new event to its Alpha8 Tour, a series of super high roller tournaments, which the company launched recently.
The newly introduced tournament will have a buy-in of $100k and will be held on St. Kitts, a Caribbean island, on November 16 and November 17. The event will be televised. The St. Kitts Marriott Resort and Royal Beach Casino, which is located at Christophe Harbor on St. Kitts, will be the host of this event.
Notable high-stakes poker players such as Dan Bilzerian, Paul Newey, Tobias Reinkemeier, Philipp Gruissem, and Eric Seidel have already confirmed that they will take part in this event.
Adam Pliska, president of the World Poker Tour, said: “St. Kitts is the perfect setting in which to watch some of the boldest amateur players put their games to the test against the highest-profile professionals. The island’s unspoiled tropical beauty will also provide for compelling television in a tropical environment that is both relaxed and inspiring for those seeking a glimpse into this exclusive and exotic lifestyle.”
Bill Perkins, the local high-stakes poker player, will also take part in this tournament. He said: “I look forward to hosting some of poker’s highest rollers in my second home. Being able to enjoy my hobby and hone my skills alongside these pro players, all near the natural beauty and warm waters of St. Kitts, will be brilliant.”
The St. Kitts Alpha8 tournament will be followed by the St. Maarten leg of the World Poker Tour. St. Maarten, another exquisite Caribbean destination, is only 50 miles away from St. Kitts.
The St. Maarten leg of the WPT Caribbean will comprise a $3,500 Main Event, which will be held from November 19 to November 24. It will also include a $7k Lucky Number 7 High Roller Tournament, which will be played from November 22 to November 24. German poker pro Reinkemeier will be the host of this event.
All the high-stakes poker players who will take part in this Alpha8 event can book hotel rooms at heavily discounted rates at the St. Kitt’s Marriott Resort and Royal Beach Casino. The rates will begin at only $179 for one night. If players need help registering for this tournament and booking hotel rooms, they can send an email to email@example.com.
The WPT Alpha8 has now stopped at London.
