WPT Seminole Hard Rock Championship Begins on April 10

The World Poker Tour (WPT) Seminole Hard Rock Showdown Championship, which will be shown on television, will begin on April 10 and conclude on April 16 at the Hollywood-based Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. The final table will be played at the Hard Rock Live while the other tournaments will be held in the ballrooms.
The championship event, which carries a buy-in of $3,500, features a guaranteed prize of $5 million and will begin in the afternoon of April 10, Thursday. The event will have several starting flights and players can select their best chip stacks. Re-entries will be permitted for six levels.

Ray Stefanelli, the poker marketing director at Seminole Gaming, said: “It’s great to see so many familiar faces, both local and national, attending our Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown preliminary events. The excitement is building for our championship, as players of all skill levels will vie for their chance to become the next poker millionaire.”
This week, the inaugural events of the Seminole Hard Poker Showdown—the PL Omaha, Eight Game Mix, Bounty NL, and Deep Stack—will be played. This 21-day poker festival began on March 27 with an event called the Showdown Deep Stack NL Hold’em with a guaranteed prize of $1 million. The champion was Daniel Piela, who took home a prize of $144,294. This $560 buy-in tournament attracted a field of 1,966 players, who generated a prize pool as large as $1 million. As many as 200 participants finished in the cash.

The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, which is hosting this live poker tournament, is the ultimate entertainment venue in South Florida.
