Ambitious poker players now have a way to win a prize package worth $5,000 to the World Poker Tour (WPT) Montreal Main Event, which will be held at Montreal in Canada late in November, because Party Poker is holding qualifier satellites to the event.

Last year, as many as 1,173 players registered for the $3,650 WPT Montreal Main Event, setting the record for the largest player field attracted by a poker event held in Canada. The champion of last year’s WPT Montreal Main Event was Jonathan Roy, a Canadian professional poker player, who won the first-place prize of CAD779,210.

The Montreal leg of WPT 2013 will be held from November 29 to December 5 in Playground Poker Club, and it is predicted that the event will attract as many players as it did last year. If players win Party Poker’s $5k prize package, they will be one of those taking part in the event. Each $5,000 WPT Montreal Main Event prize package will comprise the buy-in amount of $3,650 to the WPT Montreal Main Event and $1,350 for spending.

Party Poker is running a $250+$25 WPT Montreal Satellite on Sundays at 20:50 CET, guaranteeing a minimum of one prize package per satellite. If players cannot afford the buy-in to this event, they can qualify for it by taking part in feeder satellites with lower buy-ins of anywhere between $1 and $30.
