Virtue Poker, a new cryptocurrency online poker website that is based on blockchain technology is preparing to enter the competitive online poker industry in the fall of 2018 and is making sure that it does everything it can to prepare itself for a successful launch. The company recently announced that it had signed Poker Hall of Famer (PHoF) Phil Ivey who will serve as an advisor to the new online poker room.
Phil Ivey: Potential Contributions
Ivey had earlier expressed interest in the cryptocurrency market and its impact on the online poker industry and this partnership with Virtue Poker gives the poker pro an opportunity to work with an online poker cryptocurrency room and grow with the industry. Ivey will act as a strategic advisor to the Virtue Poker management team and help them with the dos and donts of launching a new poker room.
Ivey has kept a rather low profile on the poker circuit in America during the last 4 years as he has been battling a couple of high profile lawsuits with the Borgata Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City and Crawfords Club in London, England over allegations regarding using ‘edge sorting’ or counting cards in order to gain an advantage of the two establishments and win millions of dollars. Ivey has preferred to play the Asian poker scene but still has a number a large number of contacts in the United States that will help him introduce Virtue Poker to key stakeholders and help establish the new brand.
Virtue Poker will have a massive task at hand as it tries to capture market share and compete with PokerStars, the biggest online poker website in the world that is reported to have 60 percent of the global market share. Virtue Poker will also have to compete with the likes of 888poker and partypoker who was recently named ‘Poker Operator of the Year’ at the recent EGR Gaming awards. The 40 year old hall of famer will use his vast experience in the poker industry to provide keys to Virtue Poker in penetrating new markets, competing with these major online poker operators and capturing market share.
Virtue Poker: Will Push Its USP
Ryan Gittleson, the co-founder of Virtue Poker realizes that there have been a number of new online poker operators who have attempted in recent times to make a splash in the market but have quickly found out that it is difficult to overthrow established operators like PokerStars and 888poker. However Gittleson believes that Virtue Poker has a number of unique features that has the potential to change how online poker is played going forward.
Poker players have always had concerns when it comes to the level of trust and security they can place with online poker operators. There have been a number of instances in the past where online poker operators have burnt poker players and Virtue Poker wants to take advantage of this weak link and establish itself as a reputed cryptocurrency online poker room that provides robust, reliable and a safe online gaming experience.
In a statement, “Building a poker site is more than just the software. The most important thing is getting liquidity and having a really strong user acquisition campaign to get players and keep them happy. Then, you need software that’s easy to use fun to play on”.
One of the biggest differences that Virtue Poker will bring is that poker players will no longer have to trust work with the fact that the online poker operator is using a Random Number Generator (RNG) stored in an offshore server. The Virtue Poker software provides each poker player with an RNG that is inbuilt into the machine that they are playing from and will shuffle the deck for each hand played.
Virtue Poker has already hired top poker pros Dan Colman and Brian Rast as brand ambassadors and the addition of Phil Ivey will help strengthen the company’s reputation and build a buzz in the market. As the cryptocurrency market continues to grow at a rapid pace, Virtue Poker wants to position itself in the market as the number one online poker cryptocurrency poker site and be challenge established operators going forward.
