The 2021 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event is set to commence on Nov 04 at the Rio in Las Vegas. The buy-in to the Main Event is $10,000 and the eventual winner will walk away with millions of dollars.
International players initially thought they would not be able to take part in the 2021 WSOP Main Event due to the international travel ban imposed by the United States. However, the White House announced last month that it will lift the international ban on Nov 08.
The WSOP responded by adding additional Day1 flights for the Main Event to give international players a chance to fly in and take part in the Main Event. GGPoker and LADbible put together a special event to give away a WSOP Main Event package worth $15,000.
Robinson Wins Main Event Package
The Main Event package included the $10,000 buy-in along with spending money of $5,000. LADbible came up with a special live event meet-up in October for its OnlyHands Community Facebook group that let the four qualifiers play against UFC star Paddy Pimblett and Twitch streamer Lukas Robinson.
The final table for the Main Event package took place this week at Aspers Casino in London, England. Robinson isn’t a very accomplished poker player as he has just under $30,000 in prize money in live poker winnings according to the Hendon Mob. However, he is an accomplished poker streamer and holds the record on Twitch for streaming 1,000 hours of poker streams in 100 days.
Robinson had a good run at the table and in the end had to beat a recreational poker player named Ryan Osman to win the WSOP Main Event package. Robinson got the better of Osman and ended up collecting the $15,000 Main Event package.
Gifts WSOP Main Event Package To Osman
Osman was disappointing that he wasn’t able to win and get the WSOP Main Event package. He recently lost his I.T job after working in the same company for the last nine years. He had to be content with his second place prize of £1,000.
Osman received the surprise of his life when he found out that his opponent Robinson had decided to give him his $15,000 WSOP Main Event package. Robinson told him that he had already booked his flight tickets to Las Vegas and was going to play at the 2021 WSOP Main Event and was happy to give him the package.
Osman was moved to tears with his opponent’s generosity and said he was very excited as this will be his first trip to Las Vegas. He knows that he can end up winning a lot of money if he ends up having a good run at the 2021 WSOP Main Event.
Apart from getting a chance to play at the $10,000 WSOP Main Event, Osman is also excited to get to see and meet some of his favorite poker players which include Daniel Negreanu and Charlie Carrel.
Osman said it was still sinking in that he now had a $15,000 WSOP Main Event package. He said that he had never been to a casino before and his trip to the Aspers Casino in London turned out to be better than he ever expected it to be. Osman will not want the dream to end as he knows he now has the opportunity to win a life-changing sum of money at the 2021 WSOP Main Event.
Even if he does not finish in the money, the generosity of his opponent is not something that he will forget anytime soon!
