Jennifer Newell, a reporter for CardsChat, recently interviewed Tom Kobrin, the chief marketing officer for Ultimate Poker. During the interview, Kobrin told online poker players that Ultimate Gaming plans to offer “big things” that will attract a large number of them to the site.
Kobrin also clarified several issues regarding the resignation of Terrence Chan, who was the player operations director for Ultimate Poker, as well as the departure of sponsored poker pros from the online poker room.
He said that Chan left Ultimate to concentrate on a Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) career. He will be replaced by poker pro Ali Hajjafar, who has specially chosen by Chan to take his place. Ali who plays under the moniker “Ultimate Ali” will interact with poker players at Two Plus Two Forums.
Regarding the disappearance of poker pros from Ultimate Poker, Kobrin said that Antonio Esfandiari will continue to be Ultimate Poker’s brand ambassador while Danielle Andersen, Dan O’Brien, and Jason Somerville will continue to remain on Ultimate Poker’s team of sponsored pros. He said that he cannot talk much on why the pros decided to leave Ultimate Poker as they had done so before he took up this job.
Referring to Ultimate Poker as a unique US brand, he said that Ultimate Gaming is the only company of all the online gambling companies operating in regulated US markets that is “fully made and operated in America.” Ultimate Gaming is “all-American,” right from the software platform on which it runs to the employees it recruits. As such, it understands the specific requirements of new US gambling markets.
He also said that Ultimate was the only company that started from scratch to build a product that is not only lasting, but also evolving without “the advantage of partnering with a Borgata or WSOP that had very well-known, trusted, land-based platforms with huge databases of poker players.”
Talking about the Ultimate Poker Series, a live poker event that is currently being played at Station Casino in Las Vegas, he said that this event will culminate on September 13 at the Green Valley Ranch. All Team U members, along with brand ambassador Antonio Esfandiari, are present at the series.
Kobrin also revealed details about a software update called Version 3, which will include mobile gaming. Stating that “the mobile casino will offer more games than any other operator in the market,” he said that Ultimate is committed to improving its mobile gambling product.
