Full Tilt Poker, the fallen poker giant recently acquired by The Rational Group, the parent company of PokerStars, is on the verge of rising to its feet. PokerStars is more than determined to restore the online poker room to its former glory. The online poker room, under a new ownership and new management, will be re-launched on Nov 6. PokerStars has obtained online poker licenses for Full Tilt Poker from the Isle of Man. In brief, Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars are making every effort under the sun to return to online poker players what they lost when the federal government cracked down on them on May 15, 2011.

Recently, PokerStars acquired the Full Tilt Poker brand and assets after signing a settlement agreement with the US Department of Justice (DoJ). According to the terms of this agreement, PokerStars agreed to reimburse Full Tilt Poker players all over the world within a given deadline. Full Tilt Poker players can now log into their Full Tilt Poker accounts as usual on Nov 6 and either withdraw their money or continue playing online poker as usual. The DoJ has taken it upon itself to reimburse Full Tilt Poker’s US players.
Full Tilt Poker had appointed Gus Hansen, professional poker player, as its brand ambassador. Recently, Full Tilt Poker has added two more names to its list of sponsored pros—Tom “durrrr” Dwan and Viktor “Isildur1” Blom.
Sarne Lightman, head (marketing) for Full Tilt Poker, said, “Through our continual innovations, Full Tilt Poker is proud to have been at the forefront of that evolution. In choosing our pros we approached the three poker players whose unique and innovative styles have had the most impact on how modern poker is played.”
According to Lightman, Dwan is “one of the most feared and respected players in the world today.” It may be recalled that Dwan was involved in high-stakes poker games on Full Tilt Poker before the US federal government cracked down on it in mid-May last year.
Blom enjoys taking part in high-stakes cash poker games. He can be seen playing under the user name “Isildur1.” Speaking about his poker experiences and his association with Full Tilt Poker, he said, “I always loved playing on the Full Tilt Poker software, it is where I made my name and enjoyed some of my greatest victories. When they approached me about joining the team I knew this was the right fit for me.”
