The British Poker Awards were given away to distinguished poker personalities in recognition of their abilities and achievements at a glittering awards ceremony held in London. A total of 17 awards were given away on Monday.

Sam Trickett, professional poker player from England, pushed himself head and shoulders over the other award winners by bagging the UK’s Best Cash Player Award, Player of the Year Award, and Best Tournament Player Award. Trickett, who is 26 years of age, has won a total of $11,166,185 playing live poker tournaments. He finished second at the WSOP $1 Million Big One for One Drop and collected a mammoth prize of $10.1 million. Owing to this big win, his lifetime savings shot up to $17,470,28. Besides, Trickett plays regularly at the Macau Big Game, winning millions from poker cash games. The biggest amount he has won so far is rumored to be HK$15 million of US$1.93 million.

Having received his awards, Sam Trickett logged into his Twitter account and expressed his gratitude to all those who cast their votes in his favor. He tweeted, “Won best cash player/best tourney player and player of the year!!! Thanks to everyone for all ur support! Ur all legends.”

Chris Moorman, who consistently wins a British Poker Award, won the Best Online Player Award for the third time. The 27-year-old poker player plays under the moniker “moonman1” and has earned a total of $8,215,519 from online tournaments and $2,700,162 from live poker tournaments.

Liv Boeree, a member of Team PokerStars, won the Poker Personality of the Year Award; Vanessa Sebst won the International Player of the Year Award, Kirsty Thompson of the UKIPT received the Best UK Tournament Award, and Toby Stone bagged the Best Tournament Director Award.

Craig McCorkell won the Breakthrough Player of the Year Award, Kirsty Thompson of UKIPT got the Biggest Contribution to Promoting Poker Award, Toby of UKIPT got the Best Tournament Director Award, Simon Trumper of Dusk Till Dawn won the Best Card Room Manager Award, the Champions Poker League got the Best UK Tournament Award, The Hendon Mob got the Best Poker Forum Award, Neil Channing won the Best Blogger/Social Media User Award, Palm Beach of London got the Best Card Room Bar Award, Grosvenor Victoria won the Best Card Room Restaurant Award, and Dusk Till Dawn got the Best Card Room Award.
