Progressive Gaming International Corporation has just released new World Series of Poker Texas Hold’em P2P (peer to peer) console software. This latest software, which has already been approved by Gaming Laboratories International, is expected to reaching gaming consoles in Harrah’s casinos in the near future.

The new P2P software created by Progressive gaming will show up at Harrah’s casinos because they have an exclusive license agreement with Harrah’s Licensing Company, LLC. For this reason they were granted the right to develop the World Series of Poker brand as an actual system based gaming product. Now casino-goers around the world will have a chance at a real WSOP experience.

Their new software offers many of the most popular “internet style” poker features including cashless account-based wagering, an option to play multiple tables and tournaments at the same time, an option for a player to view their account history, an easy to reach summary of your most recently played games, and a statistical breakdown of your opponents moves.

Perhaps the most attractive feature of the new P2P software is the multi-player poker system. This system allows players to compete against other players over a real-time intranet server. Thus operators can offer their clients an unlimited number of tables and dozens of various configurations while at the same time tracking play to ensure the security of the server. Finally, having this intranet system makes it easy for the casinos to deliver promotions through the existing player rewards system.

This new system of in-house poker play makes it so that players no longer need to be physically present at a felt table to compete. They will be able to play the World Series of Poker “Peer to Peer” Texas Hold’em machines at a variety of locations interspersed throughout the casino. So far they are planning on putting these new systems in bars, restaurants and lounges although the options are unlimited. Perhaps they will even begin to offer rooms with these machines in them so that you don’t even have to walk down to the casino to play anymore! Players will also have the option of competing against players located in other casinos.

Derek Harmer, the Senior Vice President of Global Sports and Wireless Operations for Progressive Gaming was quoted as saying, “World Series of Poker ‘Peer to Peer’ Texas Hold’em server based gaming system provides operators with the ability to generate additional gaming revenue without the need to replace existing gaming units on their casino floors. The product re-creates the excitement of an internet poker room within the confines of a regulated casino, and its functionality allows operators to leverage available floor space that previously was not used for gaming options."

Perhaps “revolutionary” is a bit too strong of a word to describe the new software, but surely the new P2P system created by Progressive Gaming will bring a fresh look to Harrah’s Casinos the world over.
