PokerStars emerged from the harrowing experience of Black Friday stronger than Absolute Poker, UB Poker, and Full Tilt Poker. The online poker room not only refunded its US players at the earliest possible, but also retained its spotless reputation. Although it has lost a great deal in terms of revenue from the US online poker market, PokerStars is celebrating its 10th anniversary with 10 exciting and lucrative poker events.
Online poker players can win one of the 100 prize packages to PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) next month. Satellite qualifiers will be run in the form of $0.10 tournaments, FPP tournaments, and freerolls, and the top players of each qualifier will gain entry to one of two final events, which will be run every week. The winners of the finals will receive the prize packages to the PCA.
The freerolls will be run daily, once in 10 minutes, and 10 top players of each freeroll will gain entries to the weekly final events. The $0.10 tournaments will be held every hour, and a total of 10 FPPs will be run every half an hour. The top 20 players from each of these events will get opportunities to play the weekly finals, which will be run from Nov 13 to Dec 11. The top 1000 players of each weekly final will win a share of a prize pool of $10,000 while the top 10 players will receive a prize package to the PCA.
Each PCA prize package is worth more than $15k and will include a buy-in of $10k for the Main Event, along with spending money and accommodations charges.
The Sunday Million of Dec 18 will be an event worth remembering because a cool sum of $9 million will be added to the jackpot. The event will be run at 2:30 p.m. ET with a prize pool of $10 million for a buy-in of just $214. The top player can win at least $2 million guaranteed. PokerStars will be running a wide range of qualifier satellites for this event. For instance, the $11 Sunday Million Mega Satellite will be run an hour before the Sunday Million, giving 1000 players the chance to win a seat to this $10 million tournament.
PokerStars will run a $250k Guaranteed tournament with a buy-in of just $1 on Dec 4. At least 150,000 players will be playing for the prize. PokerStars will reveal news of the other 7 events shortly.
