Casino Gran Madrid and PokerStars, the world’s largest online poker room, have signed an agreement, according to the terms of which Casino Gran Madrid customers can gain access to over 20 PokerStars poker tables.
The new online poker room is now being constructed at Casino Gran Madrid and is expected to be completed early in 2013. Regular live poker events will be hosted at this new PokerStars branded venue on a quarterly and monthly basis. Besides, live poker tournaments with buy-ins to suit different types of customers will be offered steadily.
Guy Templer, PokerStars head for business development, said: “Casino Gran Madrid is the premier casino destination in Madrid, which we already work with to host some of the largest and most successful poker tournaments in Spain.”
The new PokerStars-branded room in Casino Gran Madrid will provide its customers the chance to play the best poker games and gain the ultimate poker gaming experience, which PokerStars is known to provide.
The new poker room, which will be available on land as well as online through PokerStars.es, is expected to host over 20,000 poker players every year. The land poker room has the capacity to accommodate 200 poker players at a time. PokerStars and Casino Gran Madrid are making plans to host exclusive high-roller poker tournaments, celebrity poker tournaments, professional events, and educational seminars at this venue.
Paul Arriaga, deputy director general at Casino Gran Madrid, said: “The poker room, with an innovative interior design, has been created to take poker to a new level. This extra dimension will catch the interest of all national and international players. Our ambition is to create an amazing atmosphere to play poker, adapting the lighting, the seats and the audiovisual support to the needs of the poker player.”
PokerStars is busy holding talks and signing partnership deals with brick-and-mortar casino companies. The partnership deal it signed with Casino Gran Madrid in Spain is the second of its kind, the first one being the partnership deal signed with Hippodrome Casino, a historical gaming venue located at West End in London. The poker room at Hippodrome Casino is also under construction and is most likely to be inaugurated early in 2013.
Since Casino Gran Madrid is among the largest land casino companies in Spain, PokerStars’ partnership deal with it is expected to help the online poker company grab a major share of the Spanish poker market.
