PokerStars, the biggest online poker room in the world recently announced that it will roll out its new and improved rewards program across multiple markets. PokerStars has tested this new rewards program during a 3 month phase and has received a strong market response, prompting a global rollout with the exception of few countries.

65 Percent Rakeback and Tournament Fees

The new rewards program includes a 65 percent rakeback and tournament fees. This will be returned to players via different promotions such as the new Monthly Challenges and the Reward Chests. This is a big change from the online poker operator who has decided to go back to its reward policy during the poker boom where players at PokerStars who belonged to the Supernova Elite VIP club who get up to 70 percent rakeback.
One of the reasons why players who were part of the three month beta program responded well to these new changes is because the new rewards program is a lot more transparent.
With the new rewards program in place, players now have a clear picture as to what their targets are and the progress bar gives lets them know how many chests they need to get in order to get to the next rewards level. Each chest clearly displays what rewards it offers and there is nothing hidden from the players.
Players will get reward points across all poker games available on the online poker room as well as on other offerings which include casino games and sports betting.

Monthly Challenges & Reward Chests

The Rewards Chest system is a huge part of the Stars rewards system. The new system offers players higher returns which start out at 15 percent and go up to 25 percent. These returns are based on which rewards level a player is locked into. In the past, the progress of each player was based on their individual performance but the new system will allow players will go through each level at the same rate.
There was a randomness attached to the Rewards Chest program in the past but that has now been removed in the new system. The Rewards Chest program starts at $0.50 and goes up to $250. Players get 100 points for every $1 they get from rake and tournament fees which means their progress bar will fill up a lot faster than before. In the past, players used to get rewarded 45 points for every $1 that was paid out in rake and tournament fees.
There are six chest levels with blue being the lowest and rewarding $0.50, bronze is the next level paying out $1.50. The third level is silver which pays out $5, while Gold is the fourth level paying out $20. The fifth level is Diamond which pays out $75 and the sixth level is black which pays out $250.

Multiple Countries But Not U.S

This new rewards program will be the biggest rollout in PokerStars history as it will be rolled out across multiple markets with a few exceptions. The rewards program will be available throughout the E.U with the exception of Denmark. The rewards program will also not be rolled out across the United States which means PokerStars MI, PokerStars NJ and PokerStars PA will have to wait for some more time.
Some of the other markets that will also have to wait for the rewards program to be rolled out include India and Italy. This new rewards program is expected to boost PokerStars overall cash game traffic and help it reclaim the top spot from GGPoker.
