PokerStars Releases Info On MicroMillions And SCOOP Scheduled For April and May

The schedule for the 17th edition of the PokerStars MicroMillions is finally out! Dubbed as the biggest low-stakes tournament in online poker, MicroMillions 17 will take place from April 19-26, featuring a wide range of events for low and micro-stakes grinders, with over $2.6 million in guaranteed prize pools up for grabs!
Since making a debut in 2012, MicroMillions has become the most prestigious tournament series in low-stakes poker, attracting tens of thousands of players each year. The main highlight of the series is the Main Event which features a seven-figure prize pool. The first-ever winner of the MicroMillions Main Event was Czech Republic’s Zabaleta1 who turned his $22 investment into $140,000 in first-place prize.
MicroMillions 17
This year’s edition will feature buy-ins if between $1.10 and $10, with the schedule offering not just regular Hold’em, but also a great mix of poker variants, games and formats, such as Progressive KO, PLO, 6-Max, 8-Max, Turbo, Hyper-Turbo, Stud, Razz, 5-Card Draw, 8-Game, 2-7 Single Draw, 2-7 Triple Draw, Stud Hi/Lo, and Fusion.
The series hits the climax on the final day, April 26, during which the Sunday Storm (Main Event) takes place, offering an astonishing $1 million guarantee for a buy-in of $11. PokerStars is also giving players the chance to join in on the action for a lesser price by hosting satellites and running special Spin & GOs, requiring an entry fee of less than $1.
A special offer also awaits players who will take part in the Sunday Storm as they will have the chance to earn a free ticket to the $25,000 Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) freeroll, happening on April 29. The promo applies to the first 50,000 players failing to cash in the tournament. Each player can only receive one ticket, they should register for the freeroll on or before April 29. Any unused ticket will be made invalid thereafter.
Overall, MicroMillions 17 features an average buy-in of $3.43, and an average guarantee of $26,700, with around a dozen events running daily throughout the festival.
Previous Winners
Previous editions of the tournament also featured a Leaderboard promo, awarding extra prizes to the top finishers, with the winner taking home the Player of the Series title.
Former MicroMillions Main Event winners include “marlin5555”, “ElCheikhh”, “JiiJay”, “Nolet20”, “BgsaPnaples”, “makarios007”, and “69FABIAN69”.
SCOOP 2020
SCOOP is also among the most anticipated events in online poker and is due to take place on April 30 to May 19 at PokerStars. This year’s edition promises an initial guarantee of $85 million, spread across three weeks of top-notch online action. However, based on SCOOP’s past successes, the $85 million guarantee could very well be smashed this year.
PokerStars will announce more details about the tournament as soon as the schedule is finalized.
Last year, SCOOP achieved its biggest milestone after paying out a nine-figure prize pool – a new record in online poker history. SCOOP 2019 featured a total of six Main Events and three PLO Main Events, awarding more than $18 million in combined prize money for these events alone.
Overall, SCOOP 2019 drew more than 1 million entries, and awarded a whopping $105,133,091 in total prize money across 219 tournaments. More than $15 million of that had been awarded to the first-place finishers.
The Biggest Yet
According to PokerStars’ website SCOOP 2002 will be their “biggest” one yet, running for 20 days. The events will be categorized as Low, Medium, and High. PokerStars will also be running Spin & Go buy-ins for those who want to take part in the big events for a cheaper price.
SCOOP was established in 2009 and has since become a top choice for tournament players of every level. Canada, the UK, Germany, Russia, and the USA were the top countries with the most number of SCOOP winners. Other separate markets served by PokerStars also run their own versions of SCOOP, such as Italy and New Jersey.
