Poker action never stops as there is always some special tournament taking place around the world. PokerStars has released details of two more upcoming series, the online Bounty Builder series and the BSOP Millions which will be held in Brazil.
The online poker giant recently released info on their inaugural PokerStars Players No Limit Hold’em Championship (PSPC) as well as the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) which take place in January 2019 and have now released info on two more exciting poker events that will close out 2018.
Bounty Builder Series Is Back
Bounty Builder an online poker series dedicated to bounty tournaments is officially back after being off the calendar for the last three year’s. This 2018 series will run from Oct. 7 – 21 and promises to be more robust and exciting with 140 knockout events. Players will compete for a guaranteed prize pool of around $20 million which is considerably higher compared to the $5 million in guarantees in 2015.
A range of events are on offer with buy-ins ranging from low to medium and high. There will be nine tournaments each day with guarantees ranging from $10,000 to $ 2 million. The Main Event will be a $530 buy-in taking place on Oct. 21.
Here’s a summary of what to expect during the entire series: Players can choose from a variety of bounty formats which include the classic structure as well as progressive knockouts. There will also be varying table sizes. The bounty series is primarily a no-limit hold’em festival, with nine Omaha tournaments being mixed-in. There will be one event where the whole buy-in will go directly to the bounty pool.
Exclusive bounty freerolls worth $5,000 will take place daily giving players the opportunity to earn extra value. A $25,000 additional freeroll takes place on Oct. 23 – players will start with 1000 chips and 100 more will be earned for each player eliminated.
Another exciting part of this online series is that a $30,000 Platinum Pass will be given to the winner of the special freeroll and series leaderboard, taking them to the much anticipated PokerStars Players No-Limit Hold’em Championship (PSPC) in the Bahamas in 2019.
BSOP Millions in Detail
The Brazilian Series of Poker (BSOP) is Latin America’s largest poker festival. It will run from Nov. 27 to Dec. 6 and at the World Trade Center Sheraton in Sao Paulo. Players of any bankroll will get the chance to take part in a total of 43 events over 10 days.
There is a lot of money up to be won at this poker festival: the Main Event has a buy-in of R$3,500 ($895) with R$7 million ($1.79 million) in guarantees. The total guaranteed prize pool across the series is R$12 million which is over $3 million. The winner will earn at least R$1.2 million which is approximately $307,000. Day 1 will feature hour-long levels. From Day 2, levels will be 75 minutes long. The final table will be on Dec. 6 offering one of the best structures.
Some of the other highlights of the BSOP include a $500,000 Super High Roller event which has a buy-in of R$15,000 – the equivalent of $3,837. On top of that, PokerStars will give away four $30,000 Platinum Passes to the 2019 PSPC.
The BSOP started out as a small tournament 13 years ago but now it’s being considered one of the world’s biggest poker events. BSOP CEO Igor Trafane said that he expects more than 15,000 players to register for the festival and they are making arrangements to cater to this large influx. Poker players from all over Latin America are expected to make their way to the BSOP since it is not only the most popular poker series across Brazil but also very popular throughout Latin America.
In 2017, the festival dished out around R$52 million in prizes.
