PokerStars players “flesske” and “LEV729,” both hailing from Hungary, won jackpots worth $300,000 while playing the Spin & Go tournaments that the online poker room had recently launched.
Since Spin & Go tournaments last just a few minutes, the two players did not have to wait long to collect their life-transforming jackpots. The other players at the table also got lucky. Prizes of $30,000 each were bestowed on Irish player “ian2104,” Russian player “AlexRAVXXX,” Estonian player “barrakuuda4,” and Irish player “wallaks.” They had bought into the tournament for a buy-in of $100 each.
The Spin & Go tournaments that these players took part in had the highest buy-in of $100 although similar tournaments with lower buy-ins are available. They are associated with a jackpot of $300,000, which can be won only once in 100,000 games.
Ever since PokerStars officially launched Spin & Go tournaments in October 2014, it has given away enormous prizes to several winners. In January 2015, PokerStars launched a series of $1 Million Spin & Go tournaments with buy-ins of just $5 each, giving all players equal opportunities to become millionaires in just 15 minutes of poker play. The first player to win $1 million after playing a $5 buy-in Spin & Go for just 13 minutes was “sss66666” from Russia on January 12.
A week later, Canadian player “anushan_2323” and “Tornado111” of the Czech Republic won cool prizes of $1 million each while playing $5 buy-in $1 million Spin & Go tournaments.
PokerStars’ Spin & Go events enjoy a great deal of popularity not only for their low buy-in, but also for their format. They are three-max lottery-style SnGs based on the hyper turbo format. The size of the jackpot that players will be playing for will be pre-determined. Most Spin N Go tournaments have jackpots worth only double the tournament fees, but prize pools can become as large as 3,600 times the original buy-in.
Currently, the buy-ins of the Spin & Go tournaments at PokerStars range from $1 to $100 and the jackpot can be anywhere in the range of $3k for the $1 buy-in tournaments to $300k for the $100 buy-in tournaments.
Interested players simply have to choose their buy-in and the number of games they would like to play at the same time. The next step is to click on the “Register” option. The game begins as soon as three players register for it.
