As the race for online poker dominance in Pennsylvania begins to intensify, current leader PokerStars PA is looking to maintain its dominance in the state by launching a new promotion that gives away 100% matching funds up to $500 to players who make a reload of at least $30. The online poker giant introduced the “100% Bankroll Boost” offer after WSOP.com launched in the state on July 12.
Bankroll Boost Details
PokerStars is already offering a huge first deposit bonus of 100% up to $600 as part of its Welcome Package for new players, and now, the operator has come up with another generous offer, this time in the form of a reload bonus, open to players who add a minimum of $30 to their account.
If you’re a new player and are looking to boost your bankroll further, you are also entitled to the ongoing reload promo. Just reload at least $30 and you’re good to go. Take note though that you need to first clear out your first deposit bonus before availing of the reload offer. With an enhanced bankroll, you can play more games on PokerStars PA, increasing your chances of winning big.
Here are the key details of the new promotion:
All real money verified players on PokerStars PA can take advantage of the promo until July 20. To claim the 100% match bonus, they must make a minimum deposit of $30 and use the code “BOOST”. The maximum bonus amount that they can receive is $500.
Only one offer is available for each player, and $5 of the bonus amount will be released for every 90 Redemption Points (RPs) earned. For every $1 in rake, players receive 5 RPs. RPs only apply to real-money poker play. Casino and sports are not covered.
This means players get to enjoy an extra 27.8% in rakeback once the bonus is cleared, that’s on top of other rewards and bonuses they get to enjoy by playing on PokerStars PA.
Competition Gets More Intense in PA
Reload bonuses are not entirely new in the online poker world. Operators usually make a decision to offer these bonuses in a bid to attract new players, maintain interest in their existing customer base, or adapt to significant changes in the market. However, reload bonuses as huge as what is currently being offered by PokerStars PA are not that common.
The operator ran a similar promo for its New Jersey players in 2016, 2017, and 2018, during its COOP and SCOOP series. The offer went as high as 200% matching bonus up to $1,000. In March of this year, PokerStars also offered its Michigan players 100% reload bonus up to $500 when competitor BetMGM launched in the state.
PokerStars enjoyed an online poker monopoly in PA for over a year. It officially ended when BetMGM and Borgata went live in the state in April 2021.
BetMGM and Borgata share the same player pool, as both are operating under the same partypoker network. Despite the entrance of these two sites, PokerStars PA has remained the dominant player, holding around 87% of the market, based on latest figures from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB).
But the overall landscape could potentially change in the coming weeks or months, with the arrival of WSOP.com.
While BetMGM/Borgata are relatively weaker compared to PokerStars, the operator could face stronger competition in WSOP.com. The online poker site, owned by Caesars Interactive Entertainment, currently leads the New Jersey market, and is the only active legal site operating in Nevada. WSOP.com, along with 888, are part of a shared liquidity network, combining the player pools across New Jersey, Nevada, and Delaware.
WSOP.com is also expanding to Michigan this year, making it well-positioned to benefit from other potential interstate deals. The site is home to some of the biggest tournaments in online poker, including the ongoing WSOP Online Bracelet Series. The operator’s proven track record and experience will give PokerStars PA a run for its money.
