Indian poker players will be excited to learn that PokerStars India has something special for them during this holiday season. Massive prizes and lots of free giveaways await players at India’s first ever PokerStars Winter Series/
The tournament will taking place at PokerStars.in and will run from December 16 to 24. A total of 1,48,00,000 crore rupees will be up for grabs as part of the total guaranteed prize pool, spread across 37 events in an action-packed nine-day schedule. The Winter Series will culminate with the Main Event which has a 7,700 rupee buy-in and a guaranteed prize pool of 35 lakh rupees.
PokerStars India Ambassador Aditya Agarwal said the entire team at PokerStars is excited to bring the Winter Series to India. Huge guarantees, exciting surprises, and additional prizes from freerolls are up for grabs, giving every Indian player the opportunity to win big and end 2018 on a high.
Key Highlights
High-stakes players will have plenty of events to choose from, starting with the 6,600 rupees buy-in Sunday Special PKO Special Edition with a guaranteed prize pool of 2,000,000 rupees. It will take place on December 16, 2018 at 19:00 IST. The Battle Royale, taking place on December 17, 2018 at 20:00 IST, has a buy-in of 2,750 rupees and offers 500,000 rupees in guarantees.
A High Roller event which has a 12,000 rupee buy-in will also take place on December 20 at 20:00 IST, with 1,500,000 rupees up for grabs. Poker players can also take part in the Monster Stack Special Edition on December 22 at 20:00 IST with a buy-in of 4,400 rupees offering a guarantee of 700,000 rupees. Add to that the EPT Sochi Main Event Qualifier taking place on the last day, December 24, at 20:00 IST. Players need to deposit 2,750 rupees for this event which offers a guaranteed prize pool of INR400,000.
Winter Freerolls
PokerStars India is also making sure there’s a lot of exciting prizes in store for everyone through the Winter Series freerolls which will run daily, giving players the opportunity to win their way into the Main Event. Free tickets worth 2,50,000 rupees will be given away to the top finishers in each daily freeroll.
You can play as many Daily Freerolls as you want with unlimited number of tickets to be won. You can use these tickets to take part in Winter Series events with the same buy-in or in satellites which will give you the opportunity to qualify for events with higher buy-ins.
Multiple Promos On Offer
Main Event Deposit Offers: Players who make a deposit of 30,000 rupees before 18.59 IST before or on December 23 will earn a free ticket to the Main Event. You can also take part in the Main Event Depositors Freeroll by making a deposit worth 1,500 rupees. You just need to use the code ‘FREEROLL’ before December 22 – 20:30 IST. The freeroll which will take place on December 22, will award the top 50 players with free Main Event tickets.
Second Chance Freerolls: If you’ve been knocked out early in any of the Winter Series events without winning a prize, you can still try again via the Second Chance Freerolls which will also run daily from December 17-23. The daily freerolls will give away entry and satellite tickets to the winners.
Wrap-up Freeroll: Players participating in at least three Winter Series events will be awarded a ticket to the Winter Series Wrap-up Freeroll taking place on December 24. The top finishers will share a total prize pool of 7,50,000 rupees.
EPT Sochi Package: An EPT Sochi package is also up for grabs, which includes free entry to the European Poker Tour Sochi Main Event which takes place in March 2019. This special package also includes a 7-night accommodation good for two at the Sochi Marriott Krasnaya Polyana Hotel from March 23-30, 2019 and expenses worth 40,000 rupees.
Special Giveaways: Cool gadgets will also be given away as surprise rewards for players who have the most buy-ins on a given day during the Winter Series (excluding satellites and freerolls). Players are in for a surprise as their points and standings will not be released, and gadget winners will only be announced at the end of the Series. Winners will wait up to 7 days to receive the items. The winners can turn these gadgets into tournament money should they wish to do so.
