PokerStars has announced that it will launch yet another online poker tournament event titled Turbo Championship of Online Poker (TCOOP), which will be run on Jan 19 – 29, 2012.
The TCOOP will comprise 50 online poker events, spread across 11 days, and will guarantee a huge prize pool of $10 million. The buy-ins for the TCOOP events are in the range of $5.50 to $2,100, which makes this event friendly to high rollers, mid rollers, as well as low rollers. There is something for everybody at the TCOOP. The $1.5 Million Guaranteed Main Event will have a buy-in of $700.
Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier of Team PokerStars Pro cannot contain his joy. Voicing his views on TCOOP and admitting he is one of its biggest fans, he said: “This is going to be so great. I love fast-paced online tourneys because there’s so much action, and there’s going to be several different events every day. It’s going to be perfect to come home from the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure and then get straight back into action online. Hopefully I can add a TCOOP title to my SCOOP and WCOOP ones.”
TCOOP is similar to, but speedier than the Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) and the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP), which have been regularly run from 2009 and 2002, respectively. The TCOOP is meant especially for SCOOP and WCOOP fans who want some fast poker action and insanely huge prize pools.
Not just professional players, but also recreational online poker players are expected to be attracted to this event because of its wide range of low buy-in events. Moreover, around 4 – 6 tournaments will be run daily and will complete in just a few hours, giving players who love speed poker plenty of action, fun, and prizes.
Qualifying for the TCOOP is very easy, especially because PokerStars has already begun running qualifier satellites for the same. Buy-ins to these qualifiers are quite affordable, beginning with just $1. Those interested simply have to login to their PokerStars accounts, hit the Events tab and then the TCOOP tab, followed by the All tab to be directed to a separate page devoted to the TCOOP—http://www.pokerstars.com/tcoop.
Poker players can expect a wide range of games, including Limit Hold’em, NL Hold’em, NL Omaha Hi/Lo, PL Omaha, Triple Stud, PL Draw, HORSE, and others in a wide range of tournament formats such as 6-Max, 4-Max, shootout, Rebuy, Hyper Turbo, and others.
