PokerStars, home to Team PokerStars Pro – a collection of some of the best and highly skilled poker professionals in the industry – recently announced the latest addition to their illustrious professional poker team. Jake Cody, the youngest poker player to hold the title of Triple Crown, is the newest member of Team PokerStars Pro.
Cody is thrilled with the development and seems to have been hoping to be a part of the team for some time. Describing the partnership of himself and Poker/stars as a dream come true, “It probably sounds quite silly but it is literally a dream come true. I know it’s something that everyone says but it genuinely is. It’s something I’ve been working at for a while now. For it to actually happen… it’s awesome,” said the player.
PokerStars, one of the top online poker rooms in the industry seems to be acquiring the best and brightest of the poker professionals now playing. If names akin to the caliber of Jake Cody and Rafael Nadal continue to be added to the team, PokerStars is soon likely to have the most reputed and famous set of poker professionals in the business. What’s more, by buying out its once-strong competitor FTP, PokerStars has latched on to yet another strong connection to an excellent line up of poker professionals.
According to the famed and skilled poker pro Daniel Negreanu who officially welcomed Jake Cody to the PokerStars fold, “PokerStars always looks for young up-and-coming ambassadors for the game and I feel like we’ve found a gem. The youngest ever winner of the Triple Crown. He’s won a WPT, a World Series of Poker bracelet and more importantly an EPT. He combines poker skill with a gentlemanly demeanor as is expected in a PokerStars Team Pro. Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome Jake Cody to the team.”
“And it’s official…Good luck, my man!” Negreanu said soon after he pinned the PokerStars patch on to Cody’s hoodie.
Jake Cody is one of four players in the world to hold the Triple Crown – and of these is the youngest and some would say best looking also. Looking to the future, Cody said, “Last year was a pretty slow year but I was playing less live. There were a few spots where I could have had deep runs but flips didn’t go my way, but I’m the last person who can complain about that. I’ve got big plans for this year. Joining Team Pro has given me the inspiration.”
