Nick DiVella is a frequent player at the Aria Poker room and is looking to get Howard Lederer banned by popular vote to stop him from coming to the poker tables. It would appear that a good portion of the poker community is still angry at Howard Lederer. DiVella wants Howard Lederer banned until the poker players are paid at Full Tilt Poker.

“We believe the casino has a moral and ethical obligation to bar Howard Lederer from playing in the poker room and should Aria casino fail to take immediate action we, the poker playing community, will be forced to boycott the poker room,” he stated.

DiVella also tweeted about this. “He doesn’t deserve to play. Maybe this will be the start of a poker black list…From the response I have gotten so far it seems like it will be a huge success.”

In response to DiVella petitioning players at the Aria Casino, Leon Wheeler, a manager at the Aria poker said “We haven’t taken a stance on (whether Lederer should be allowed to play at Aria). Really, the issue has nothing to do with us.” He made it a point to clarify that the Aria poker room was not looking to ban Howard Lederer. Also, DiVella was not allowed to petition players in the casino premises to ban Lederer.

However, not every poker player has a problem with Howard Lederer. Some poker players like Negreanu have no problems with playing with Howard. “I have no problem with playing poker with either of them. I don’t like either, but don’t have a problem facing them at a table…Russ Hamilton regularly plays in Florida casinos. It’s not the responsibility of the casino to bar them. Lots of dirtbags play,” he said.

Howard Lederer has been involved in several controversies since the issues of Black Friday broke. Lederer was indicted and accused, however he kept silent regarding the whole matter and only gave out a statement in his recent interview with PokerNews. Lederer had claimed that he was unaware of what was happening and was not too involved in the financial dealings of things. These statements did not go down well with the poker community and rightfully enough Chad Elie tweeted him out. “‘I have never met a payment processor – Howard Lederer.’ Interesting Howard. Do you not remember the MEETINGS we had? What about NYE? 5hr meeting,” he tweeted.
