With the recent rollout of 888poker’s new “Poker 8” software, players who have tried the software have taken to popular poker forums and social media to share their opinions of both the good and bad that the new Poker 8 software brings.
We have put together a consolidated list of player feedback to give new players an idea of what they can expect at 888poker.
Customize Feature
Players are bound to notice that the current design initially does resemble the previous look in many ways. The new software has easy-to-navigate tournament and cash game tables and user-friendly menu items like profile editing and account deposits/withdrawals. One thing that stands out is that the new Poker 8 software allows players to have more freedom on the “Settings” menu which now offers a range of new options.
Players can now choose from eight different backgrounds, four different card faces which include two four-color decks for multi-table players, as well as 10 different decks. There are also dozens of images available for players to use to better-represent themselves at the tables. They can also decide to remove the images if they want.
Cleaner Tables
The “cleaner” 888poker tables welcome players with plenty of space between them. The uncluttered appearance allows players to easily spot who is still active at the table. When players display their cards, they appear next to their high-resolution images, and when they fold, the avatars fade.
Time banks are displayed via a blue light built into the player nameplate, representing how much time each player has left to act. While the previous look included a huge chat window on the space below the tables, it has now been replaced with a simple chat bubble button that functions neatly without disrupting the play.
More Fun, Hand Replayer
Keen on maintaining the level of fun and enjoyment among the players at the table, 888poker now allows you to throw virtual items at your competitors by right-clicking on your opponent’s avatar. You can throw an egg, a tomato, a snowball, cake or a trophy at them coupled with their individual animation.
You can also figure out your opponents’ location and how long they’ve been at the table by double-clicking on them. You can then tag them using one of seven colors available.
Among the great additions is the hand replayer feature which is located in the top right-hand corner of the screen. By moving your mouse over the icon, you will be able to view the result of the last hand. If you want to know all of the hands from the table, all you need to do is to click the icon anytime you want. A handy tool which can help you improve your skills is also on display.
Enhanced Look for Tournament Players
Those who are into Sit & Go and multi-table tournaments can expect the same uncluttered tables found at 888poker’s cash games. Information regarding the blind levels is shown at the top of the screen, as well as the remaining time in the current level.
Your position and the number of players you need to go through to get nearer the money are also displayed at the bottom of the screen, though the table does not currently show the average stack size which is supposed to guide tournament players throughout any event. But you can still go to the tournament lobby to check this info.
No matter what format you’re playing, every bet slider is the same, with call, fold and raise shown in varying colors to prevent mis-clicks.  There is currently no customize option available in relation to bet amounts on the slider.
Good Feedback So Far
888poker offers some of the widest selections of poker variants available today, ranging from the traditional No-Limit Hold’em, to Pot Limit Omaha, as well as plenty of cash games for players to enjoy. Among the amazing formats the online poker room is currently offering is SNAP Poker, a fast-fold game format that reduces waiting time and can be played in both cash game and tournament formats.
Player feedback is important for 888poker and they will look to gather info from players to sort out any issues they have encountered in the last few days. 888poker has already identified a few issues that need be sorted such as displaying the average stack at the tables and coming up with customizable bet amounts. Overall the current design and changes have gone down well with poker of the 888poker player pool.
