PKR Poker, the world’s first three-dimensional online poker room, which was launched eight years back, has now upgraded its software and launched mobile poker applications.
Jez San, the founder of PKR Poker, told CalvinAyre, “We started from nothing. We were one of the last poker companies to launch and we came up with something that was different and that allowed us to survive in a very competitive world.”
He further said that his aim when he began PKR.com was to deliver a realistic online poker experience. Since playing live poker is all about having fun and being social, he tried to manifest an idea that involved incorporating the game’s social aspect while playing it online.
A PKR.com representative said that, ever since the 3D online poker room was launched eight years back, it has been home to millions of players, hosted eight live poker events, generated 78 PKR Masters champions, helped several players qualify for live poker tournaments, and witnessed staff members and sponsored players win large prizes in prestigious live events.
PKR has developed a reputation for being synonymous with innovation, and its eighth birthday presents an occasion to make better plans for the future. A PKR representative said that the company’s development team will be busy developing multi-table poker tournaments for its Android app, adding that the multi-table tournaments for its iOS app will be launched this week.
On this occasion, PKR.com’s new mobile poker app for iOS phones and tablets, called PKR 3D Poker, was launched. Interested players can download the app for free from the AppStore. The app is available to all PKR.com customers residing in Ireland, UK, Denmark, and Sweden.
The app has been created especially to reproduce the award-winning three-dimensional animations and graphics of PKR.com on the screens of mobile devices. Through this app, mobile players can gain access to multi-table tournaments, Texas Hold’em SnGs, ring games, and scheduled tournaments available in the PKR.com portfolio for fun as well as real money. PKR.com will also launch a similar app for Android soon.
PKR has also announced that it will soon launch a feature-rich mobile poker forum this autumn along with the largest software upgrade in the online poker room’s life of eight years. PKR has not revealed any fine detail; so players will have to wait to find out what the newly upgraded PKR.com will look like. However, PKR will release a sneak preview of the new software in September 2014.
