Every week, IveyPoker.com, an online poker room that trains online poker players, declares one of the members of Team Ivey as the Pro of the Week. This week, the online poker pro who has been named Pro of the Week is none other than the site’s founder owner Phil Ivey, who recently won the Aussie Millions 2014 LK Boutique $250k Challenge.

Having won the above mentioned Aussie Millions event, Ivey’s total career winnings have crossed the $3.5 million mark. He had to beat formidable poker players such as Daniel Negreanu, Issac Haxton, a member of Team PokerStars Pro, Tom Dwan, ex sponsored pro at Full Tilt Poker, Erik Seidel, a member of the Poker Hall of Fame, and Mike McDonald, who plays under the moniker Timex in order to win the event. This poker victory becomes all the more notable as it is the second time Ivey has won the Aussie Millions $250k Challenge. Previously, he won this title in 2012 and took home a big prize of over $2 million.

The online poker gaming community worldwide considers Phil Ivey to be the world’s best poker player. His live poker tournament winnings are now over $21.25 million, which makes him the second biggest live poker tournament earner in the world. The first biggest earner is Antonio Esfandiari, who won $18 million in the World Series of Poker’s (WSOP) 2012 $1 Million Buy-in Big One for One Drop tournament.

Ivey, along with poker pro Johnny Moss, have won nine WSOP gold bracelets each and closely follows Johnny Chan and Doyle Brunson, who have won 10 bracelets each. Phil Hellmuth has won the highest number of gold bracelets, which happens to be 13. One of Ivey’s poker aims is to beat Hellmuth, and it is quite possible he will succeed as he is 12 years younger than Hellmuth.

IveyPoker.com was launched on Jan 28, and Ivey’s huge Aussie Millions success has attracted all the more attention to his website. The Ivey League trains players at different skill levels to play a better game of poker through three different subscription packages.

Phil Ivey has always expressed happiness to highlight the poker achievements of professional poker players in his Ivey League roster. This week, however, he is basking in the limelight. This is nothing new to Ivey as he has been the center of poker attention ever since he began winning large cash prizes in live poker tournaments around 15 years back.
