PokerStars is running some exciting poker tournaments this weekend (Oct 23-24) in New Jersey, Michigan and Pennsylvania. The online poker operator will use its ‘Classic’ brand to run weekend poker festivals in Michigan and New Jersey while Pennsylvania will see the return of the 5th edition of its Pennsyl-MANIA series.
During the weekend, PokerStars will guarantee a combined $700,000 in guarantees across these three states. Pennsylvania is the biggest beneficiary as the Pennsyl-MANIA festival will carry a $350,000 guaranteed prize pool, the highest amongst the three states. New Jersey will only feature a $100,000 prize pool whereas Michigan will feature a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool.

The Pennsyl-MANIA festival takes place just before the Halloween weekend and gives players a chance to win a good payout, especially if they finish in the top three. The Pennsyl-MANIA event has a $300 buy-in and will need a total of 1,250 players to sign-up to meet the $300K prize pool.
PokerStars PA will take a 6.66% rake on Pennsyl-MANIA which means the operator will pull in just $20 from the buy-in while the remaining $280 will go straight into the guaranteed prize pool. This is another exciting opportunity for poker players in the Keystone state to take part in an exciting poker festival over the weekend and finish in the money.
The $300 buy-in could be a little high for some and as a result, PokerStars PA is already running numerous $15 satellite events that give players a chance to qualify for Pennsyl-MANIA at a fraction of the buy-in. To make things even easier, PokerStars PA is running Pennsyl-MANIA Depositor Freeroll.

Pennsyl-MANIA Depositor Freeroll

PokerStars PA is giving away 50 Pennsyl-MANIA Depositor Freerolls that will allow 50 individuals to take part in Pennsyl-MANIA for free. All they have to do is make a $30 deposit at PokerStars PA and enter the code PAMANIA21 to obtain a ticket to this freeroll. This promotion is open to existing and new players and is one of the easiest ways to get a chance to play Pennsyl-MANIA.

Pennsyl-MANIA Tournament History

This is the fifth edition of Pennsyl-MANIA that PokerStars PA is running. The operator has had a lot of success with this tournament in the last two years. The first edition of Pennsyl-MANIA took place in May 2020 when PokerStars promised a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool.
This was the first time that poker players in Pennsylvania had a crack at a good tournament from PokerStars and the response was fantastic as the buy-in was just $200. The guaranteed prize pool nearly doubled as 2774 registrations came through and a total of $515,964 in prize money came in.
PokerStars PA decided to raise the guaranteed prize pool for the next edition of Pennsyl-MANIA in August 2020. This edition had a $350,000 guaranteed prize pool while the buy-in stayed the same at $200. The second edition did well as a total of $376,836 in prize money came in.
The third edition of Pennsyl-MANIA took place in December 2020. PokerStars PA kept the buy-in at $200 but raised the prize pool to $500,000. This time, the operator missed it and had to pay $70,526 in overlays. PokerStars learnt its lesson and decided for the fourth edition of Pennsyl-MANIA to raise the buy-in to $300 and lower the guaranteed prize pool to $400,000.
The four edition in April 2021 did well as the guaranteed prize pool went up to $413,280. PokerStars PA is confident that the fifth edition in October 2021 will also surpass the guaranteed prize pool.
