Italian racing and poker fans will be happy to hear that their two loves are combining in a new promotion from PartyPoker.it. The Italian wing of the PartyPoker online poker room is giving their customers the chance to face off on the felt with their newly signed spokesperson, F1 driver Giancarlo “Fisi” Fisichella. The new promotion, entitled “Pole Position”, features a series of satellite tournaments, culminating in a 10-person Sit & Go featuring Fisi with more than €10,000 in prize money up for grabs.
The promotion is only limited to the Italian users of PartyPoker.it, but those who play on the site have several opportunities to freeroll their ay into the finale tournament. Pole Position “Practice Round” are running Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1:50PM ET and the top 50 finishers in each of these freeroll events advance to the daily Pole Position Qualifying Round One. These €1 buy-in tournaments run daily at 2:25PM ET with one in every twelve participants moving on to the next round in the Pole Position process.
Pole Position Qualifying Round Two tournaments will run every Tuesday at 2:55PM ET. These €11 buy-in tournaments give players their first chance to cross paths with Fisichella and any player who knocks him out of these events will receive a €500 Bounty. One in every five players will move on to the final Pole Position Qualifying Round between users and the Pole Position Race Day grand finale. Round Three is a one-time tournament running on Tuesday December 8th at 2:55PM ET. Only the top eight finishers in the €50 buy-in tournament will advance to the final 10-man Sit & Go, which will take place the following Tuesday at the same time.
The Pole Position Race Day Sit & Go will feature a prize pool of €10,000 and will reward each finalist with a commemorative “Fisi” poker chip set. Once again, the F1 driver will have a bounty on his head, this time worth €1,000. Should the player who claims the bounty on Fisi, who plays on PartyPoker.it under the screenname “king_fisico”, finish in the top eight of the Round Three tournament, the player who finishes in ninth place will advance to the Pole Position final as well.

Qualifying tournaments for Pole Position began on Monday November 16th and will continue until the Round Three event on the 8th. Fisichella, who joined the site a couple of months ago will be taking time out of his busy racing schedule to play in the various events. The Italian-born driver is currently racing for Ferrari and his past teams include Renault, Benneton, Sauber and Jordan. He has excelled off the track and on the felt as well, impressing the poker world with his performance in the PartyPoker-sponsored Sports Star Challenge IV earlier this year.
