Players on the partypoker US Network in New Jersey can look forward to a huge week ahead as another Online Series will run from March 21 to March 28, this time offering $360,000 in guaranteed prize pool.
Players on partypoker NJ, Borgata Poker, and BetMGM Poker NJ will be able to take part in the upcoming festival.
Key Details
The latest edition of the Online Series features 11 tournaments, with buy-ins ranging from $20, all the way up to $1,060. The schedule includes the usual formats, such as No-Limit Hold’em, Progressive Knockout, and Pot-Limit Omaha. A new Heads-Up tournament has also been added, taking place on March 24. Each tournament guarantees at least $10,000 in total prize pool.
The series opens big with a $215 buy-in, $50K GTD Sunday Special NLH on March 21. One tournament takes place each day, except for March 24 with two events running, and also on the final day, March 28, during which the festival wraps up with three events: a $10K GTD 8Max Mini Championship NLH, a $109 buy-in, $35K GTD Sunday NLH, and a $125K GTD Main Event.
Main Event Buy-in Increased from $250 to $1,060
Back in January, the network also hosted an Online Series, which featured $290,000 in guaranteed prize money. The main highlight of the festival came in the form of a $250 buy-in PKO 8MAX NLH Main Event, but a lot of players had asked for the entry fee to be increased to $1,060 to boost the prize pool. And so partypoker is giving them just what they want in the upcoming series.
As usual, the $1,060 buy-in 8-Max Main Event will take place on the final day of the festival, March 28. Players will compete for $125,000 in total guarantees, but that figure is expected to be smashed, as more and more players register for the tournament even before the start of the series. Since the schedule was announced, the upcoming Main Event has so far generated $89,000 in prize pool.
The finalists will battle it out in a livestreamed final table on March 29.
partypoker US Network Going Strong in New Jersey
The partypoker US Network, comprised of partypoker NJ, Borgata Poker, and BetMGM Poker, is among the leading online poker networks in New Jersey. The network is currently being managed by Roar Digital, an online gaming joint venture created by MGM Resorts and partypoker’s parent company Entain (previously GVC Holdings).
The network never runs out of MTT offerings for all its players and fans. In 2021 alone, it has hosted at least two festivals so far, kicking off with the Online Series in January. It was followed by a PKO Tournament Series which took place from February 21 – 28.
The network had a productive 2020, enjoying a year-over-year growth of at least 50% since the COVID-19 lockdown. It closed the year with more than $3 million in revenue in December. That’s up 74% from 2019, and represents an all-time high for December in NJ’s online poker history.
The partypoker US Network has seen the biggest growth in 2020, compared to its rivals WSOP.com and PokerStars NJ. The network is aiming to maintain that growth this year.
Partnership With World Poker Tour
The network has also recently joined forces with LearnWPT to introduce “For The Player”, a free poker strategy learning tool. LearnWPT is the official poker education platform of the World Poker Tour.
In 2020, the WPT also partnered with the partypoker US Network for the first-ever $300k GTD WPT Online Poker Open which took place in June. In December, both entities worked together once again for the WPT Online Poker Open $3,400 Main Event, which featured a massive $1 million guarantee. The tournament marked the first time that players in New Jersey were able to take part in a WPT Main Tour online event.
As the network aims for more growth and expansion, partypoker is hoping to enter Pennsylvania and Michigan this year, while BetMGM is also looking at gaining foothold in both states for its sportsbook and online casino offering.
