In an attempt to fill the void and satisfy the need for some more online poker tournaments, Party Poker launched Pokerfest last year, which became very popular and got some good reviews. Party Poker is going to launch the second edition of Pokerfest, called the Pokerfest II, soon.
Pokerfest II is reported to comprise 47 tournaments with a total guaranteed prize pool of $3.5 million. The online poker tournament will commence on April 22 Sunday with four NL Texas Hold’em tournaments and will close on May 6 Sunday with a Main Event having a buy-in of $640 and a guaranteed prize pool of $1 million.
The event will also comprise tournaments based on popular poker variants such as PL Omaha and FL Texas Hold’em in formats such as deep stacks, 6-max, re-buys, and speed tourneys. The buy-in to these events ranges from a few Party Points to as much as $1,060 although players can buy-in to most of these events for anywhere between $11 and $99.
The event is also associated with a number of extra jackpots, which can be won along with one’s share of the guaranteed prize pool. The biggest extra prize that can be won is $20,000 and a World Series of Poker (WSOP) prize package worth $14,000 for the player who emerges victorious in 3 Pokerfest II tournaments.
Here are some of the other extra jackpots that can be won. The player who reaches the final table of any 10 Pokerfest II events will win $15,000 and an iPad, the player who reaches the final table in any 5 Pokerfest II events will win $7,500 and an iPad, the player who win money in any 20 Pokerfest II events will win $5,000 and an iPad, and the player who wins money in any 10 Pokerfest II evens will win $2,500 and an iPad.
Party Poker will also run two side events with $1 buy-in daily during Pokerfest II. Besides, a leaderboard contest will also add to the fun. Party Poker will have 3 leaderboards—one for Party Points tournaments, one for tournaments with buy-ins in the range of $6 to $33, and one for tournaments with buy-ins above $55.
The Party Points tournaments leaderboard carries a prize pool of $2,500 and $250 for the top player, the $6 – $33 leaderboard carries a prize pool of $15,000 and $1,250 for the winner, and the above $55 leaderboard carries a prize pool of $32,500 and $2,500 to the winner.
