The latest Party Poker sponsored televised event is not too far away and the online poker room is once again offering its users an opportunity to compete with the best the poker world has to offer by giving away a seat to the upcoming PartyPoker.com Premier League Poker Playoff Event. The site’s points race kicks off on December 7th and continues through January 3rd with the top finisher earning a prize package worth $9,000 that includes a seat in the $6,250 buy-in event as well as luxury hotel accommodations and $2,000 in spending money.
The Playoff Event will run in Las Vegas, Nevada on the 7th and 8th of February with 16 PartyPoker.com qualifiers vying for a seat in the big event, which will run from the 9th to the 16th. The Premier League Final will feature a prize pool of $1.5 million.
This race is exclusively for members of PartyPoker’s VIP loyalty program, the Palladium Lounge, but those who are Bronze, Silver and Gold level VIPs have a cash game points race of their own as part of the recently announced Full House promotion, which Tight Poker covered in detail on Tuesday.
This Palladium Lounge-exclusive points race has more than $155,000 up for grabs to the top 250 PartyPoints earners during the promotional period. The top finisher gets the prize package, but the top 30 finishers will all receive at least $1,000 dollars cash and the top 250 finishers are all guaranteed at least $100 in prize money. Party Poker is hosting the leaderboard on their official website and players can check in there to track their progress.
Even those who fall short of the top 250 have a chance to take part in the Premier League event thanks to a special freeroll for the top 600 finishers. Those players will compete in a January 10th freeroll on Party Poker to claim two more Premier League seats as well as cash prizes ranging in value from $100 to $2,000. The top fifty finishers in the freeroll will take home a piece of the $34,500 in cash and prizes up for grabs.
There is yet another twist in this promotion that is the most lucrative prize of all. One of the sixteen Premier League Playoff Event qualifiers will receive a sponsorship deal to play as a member of Team Party Poker for the next year alongside fellow team members like Mike Sexton, Felipe “Mojave” Ramos, Remy Biechel, Ian Frazer and the recently added Stewart Scott. The contract is valued at $100,000. The winner of the event will not necessarily be the one chosen for the sponsorship deal. Party Poker’s terms and conditions regarding the event stipulated that other factors besides performance in the playoff event will be taken into consideration when making the selection.
The previous installment of the Premier League was won by Asia Poker Tour sponsored pro JC Tran, who emerged victorious from a final table that included Roland de Wolfe, Peter Eastgate, Tom “durrrr” Dwan, Tony G and Juha Helppi. He earned $300,000 for the win.
