GGPoker Network is now the new home of OlyBet. The successful transition took place on April 30, less than a month before its former network Microgaming Poker Network (MPN) closes its poker operations for good. The new partnership will give all OlyBet users access to all offerings, features, and massive tournaments at GGPoker, including the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Super Circuit Online Series, which just got underway on May 3.
Migration Details
As part of the migration, OlyBet is now live on all of GGPoker markets, and is set to enjoy a daily flow of around 30,000 players. The online platform is currently owned and operated by Eastern European gaming operator Olympic Entertainment Group (OEG), which is responsible for organizing some of the biggest poker festivals in Europe, including Kings of Tallinn and Battle of Malta.
Veiko Krunberg, Managing Director of OlyBet, said the company is delighted to work with the world’s largest poker network, saying the deal will greatly benefit their growing player pool today and tomorrow. Head of GGPoker Jean-Christophe Antoine said their goal now is to help OlyBet in becoming the top poker player in their markets. The latest partnership will also boost the GGPoker’s presence in Europe.
OlyBet started as an online sportsbook and has grown over the years to provide additional offerings such as virtual sports, live casino, online casino games, skill games, and online poker. The online operator is duly licensed by both the Estonian and Latvian gaming authorities. Its parent company OEG is one of the leading casino groups in the Baltic region, operating more than 100 casinos and betting points across six countries.
OlyBet Players Can Now Join The WSOP Super Circuit Online Series
The new partnership between OlyBet and GGPoker will see the WSOP Super Circuit Online Series attract more players, with OlyBet users also now able to take part in the massive online tournament which runs through to May 31. The festival features a total of 595 events, 18 of which will award a highly-coveted WSOPC gold ring.
Olybet players will now be part of history as they take part in the world’s highest-paying online poker festival, which is set to give away over $100 million in total prizes. The 18 Circuit gold ring events, which include the $1,000 Main Event, will award a combined $28 million in guaranteed prize money. OlyBet players may take part in the tournament for as low as $50, or they can go to as high as $25,000 in the High Roller Championship which features a massive $10 million guarantee.
OlyBet’s Online Poker Background
OlyBet launched its online poker product in 2013 on MPN. That partnership went through challenging times last year when OlyBet and all the other online rooms running on the network such as Grosvenor Poker, betsson, betsafe, Coolbet, NordicBet, and RedStar had to look for a new home after MPN announced its decision to shut its online poker operations in Q2 or Q3 of 2020, following an extensive internal review of their product portfolio and strategy.
MPN is an award-winning network that has served online poker players for more than 16 years, but according to its CEO John Coleman, they now have a new strategic vision for poker, and unfortunately the network model will no longer be part of it.
GGPoker Network
GGPoker Network went live in 2014, launching in the Asian market. With a goal of making poker fun again, the network has come out with a range of innovative games and features, including Spin & Gold (its own version of the popular jackpot Sit & Go), All In Or Fold and Rush & Cash, as well as cash games played in three main formats – Texas Hold’em, Short Deck, and Omaha. Its unique features include Tournament Staking, Smart HUD, and Smart Betting.
GGPoker runs a range of Sunday and Daily tournaments. One of its most popular tournaments is the GGMasters which takes place every Sunday, featuring $500,000 in guarantees. It recently joined forces with the WSOP and is set to host the first-ever WSOP Super Circuit Online Series.
