NJ Poker Rooms Running Qualifiers to WPT and WSOPC Championships

Although many believed that New Jersey’s brand new online poker sites would lose no time in capitalizing on the rich cross-promotional opportunity created by their affiliation to the land-based casinos in Atlantic City, the simple truth is that few such cross promotions have been launched. However, Atlantic City is going to host two prestigious live poker tournaments, which are going to be more lucrative than any cross promotion.

During the last week, WSOP.com and Party/Borgata launched two promotions, giving players the opportunity to win seats to either the WSOPC National Championship or the WPT Championship. There are plenty of opportunities for players to win seats to the WPT Championship, the first of its kind in New Jersey, at BorgataPoker.com as well as NJ.PartyPoker.com.
Party Poker is currently running daily satellites to a HU Shootout tournament with 64 seats, which is scheduled for April 13. The last man standing will automatically win a seat to the $15000 buy-in championship. Players can buy-in directly to these qualifier satellites for $20 or they can take part through sub-qualifiers with lower buy-ins.
Players holding step tickets can exchange their tickets to Step Four and above to get seats to any of the direct qualifiers, which will be played on April 13. Party Poker will also hold a Last Chance Tournament on April 17, giving five lucky players the chance to win seats to the WPT Championship.
Borgata is giving players the chance to exchange a Step Six ticket or pay the buy-in of $2,000 to take part in a 12-handed Sit N Go. Those who finish first will get a seat the WPT Championship and those who finish in the second, third, and fourth positions will get a second chance to win a WPT Championship ticket.
Meanwhile, WSOP.com has launched the Knockout Series, challenging players to win any of the 14 small or mid buy-in tournaments and grab a seat to the Champions Freeroll. The winner of this freeroll will win a seat to the WSOPC National Championship. The Knockout Series will begin on April 20. Players can also grab a second chance to win a seat by taking part in a promotional freeroll, which will be held on May 17. Players can get a seat in this promotional freeroll by making a deposit between the dates of today and April 30. The WSOPC Championship will be held at the new WSOP poker room at Bally’s on May 22.
