Just weeks after the record for the largest poker hands in online history were broken, Phil "OMGClayAiken" Galfond broke the record for having the biggest stack at an online poker game. Galfond was playing $500/$1,000 6-max, No Limit Hold’em games at Full Tilt Poker this past weekend and managed to hold a $1.5 million stack at one point.

While the record is unofficial, Galfond’s $1.5 million stack is believed to be the largest ever held in a cash game. At the end of his session, Galfond set another record when he left the table with $1,266,264. He was able to build this large chip stack by winning 3 separate pots worth over $400,000 during the poker session.

Galfond wasn’t the only one doing amazing things last week at Full Tilt Poker – Tom “durrrr” Dwan also had some impressive feats. On December 5th Dwan was playing $500/$1,000 6-max, No Limit Hold’em games and managed to make a $955,000 profit in a single day. Dwan left his first session with $455,000 and he left his other session with $772,000 after starting the day with $272,000.

Not all of the amazing feats accomplished last week at Full Tilt were good ones: a player by the name of “Ziigmund” reportedly lost $1.4 million in one day. The aforementioned Phil Galfond and Tom Dwan were two of the players who benefited from Ziigmund’s misfortune on the day.

Back on October 26th, Dwan was also involved in some of the biggest poker hands in the history of online poker. The first record setting hand saw “durrrr” and Sami “LarsLuzak” Kelopuro battle for $618,000. Dwan was on the winning end of this exchange and set the record for the largest online poker hand ever won.

Later on, “durrrr” got involved in a huge hand with fellow poker pro John Juanda; the record would once again be broken with $678,000 in the pot. Unfortunately for Dwan, Juanda would be the one breaking records when he scooped the $678K pot.

Amazingly, Dwan got involved in one more huge pot when he, Phil Ivey and Di “urindanger” Dang played for a $724,000 pot. Dwan and Ivey got the short end of the stick since Dang won the $724,000 pot and set the current record for the largest online poker hand ever won.

Full Tilt Poker was launched in 2004 and has a big high stakes online poker scene since many of its founders are big-time players themselves. Phil Ivey, Jennifer Harman, and Howard Lederer are three of the notable professionals who have a stake in the site and can often be found on the tables at Full Tilt.
