Neteller has appeared in New Jersey seven years after leaving the US market. Since Skrill was always available as a payment option, New Jersey online poker players can now choose from two eWallets to deposit funds.
The biggest issue blocking the growth of New Jersey’s fledgling online gambling market is payment processing. Now that Neteller is back, players who were getting frustrated with rejected MasterCard and Visa transactions have another alternative payment method. The arrival of Neteller may, therefore, help boost the state’s online poker industry.
Currently, players can use Skrill to deposit funds and withdraw winnings at NJ PartyPoker, but Skrill is not available as a payment option at Borgata Poker, NJ PartyPoker’s sister site. Players can deposit and withdraw as little as $10 to as much as $50,000 using Skrill. While depositing funds is instantaneous, withdrawals may take as many as 24 hours. Players do not have to pay any extra fee to use Skrill as a payment method at NJ PartyPoker.
Recently, 888 Poker and WSOP.com introduced Neteller as a payment method. Currently, players can use Neteller only to fund their accounts. If they want to withdraw funds, they must use casino cash, bank draft, or ACH. None of NJ’s online gaming sites, including Caesars Casino and Harrah’s Casino, have introduced Neteller as a withdrawal option too. Players can deposit as little as $10 to as much as $5k if they use Neteller, but WSOP.com says that players can deposit more if they supply their identification proofs.
Although both provide relief to players who have problems using credit cards, they are not the perfect solutions. The biggest disadvantage for Skrill users is that NJ PartyPoker does not accept funds deposited using MasterCard. However, players will not face any problems if they fund their accounts using Visa cards. Although Skrill accepts PaySafeCard deposits, the experience of using PaySafeCard to fund Skrill accounts is not an ideal one as PaySafeCards need to be purchased and are associated with high fees. Although there are no fees associated with manual bank transfers and ACH, all credit card transactions are associated with a fee of 2.9 percent.
While Neteller can be funded using both Visa and MasterCard and the transactions are instantaneous, there is a transaction fee of 2.5 percent. Although 888 Poker and WSOP.com do not charge fees to players who use Neteller as a deposit option, the biggest drawback is that it cannot be used to withdraw winnings.
