Jonathan Little has to his credit two World Poker Tour (WPT) championship titles. He has also written a popular book series called Secrets of Professional Tournament Poker. He posted a tweet stating that he had “signed with @ultimatepoker and will now be representing them + playing a ton on the site.”
William Reynolds, who was previously on the pro roster at Full Tilt Poker, also tweeted: “Toured @UltimatePoker’s office today. Professional environment with an expert team. Looking forward to repping UP this WSOP.”
Jason Somerville, winner of a WSOP bracelet, posted a photograph showing him wearing Ultimate Poker branded clothes and posing with Dana White, president of the UFC, and said that he is delighted to be “part of a whole new family.”
Even before its launch, Ultimate Poker had announced that Antonio Esfandiari was going to be its brand ambassador. In a press release, Tom Breitling, chairman for Ultimate Poker, had announced that the company is happy to have Antonio Esfandiari on board. Referring to Esfandiari as “the ultimate champion and modern poker player,’ Breitling said that Esfandiari “brings the gaming lifestyle to the online arena with his work-hand, play-hard attitude.”
The release also stated that Antonio “The Magician” Esfandiari is the first professional poker player to represent the first licensed online poker room in the US. Last year, Esfandiari won $18 million playing the WSOP Big One for One Drop Tournament, a $1 million buy-in event. Besides, he won over $23 million playing live poker tournaments and bagged three WSOP bracelets and two WPT championship titles.
Terrence Chan, a professional poker player who later became an MMA fighter, announced in the middle of March that he had signed a sponsorship deal with Ultimate Poker. Chan reportedly holds a very influential position in the company.
The online poker room also welcomed on board, through its twitter account @UltimatePoker, pros such as Phil Collins, who was a November Niner in 2011, Dan D’Brien, Gavin Griffin, winner of the Triple Crown, and Randy Dorfman. These players joined the existing family of Ultimate Poker pros Antonio Esfandiari, Jonathan Little, Jason Somerville, and William Reynolds.
