The 2017 World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas, Nevada concluded in late June and turned out to be a great success for the WSOP. Poker players from all over the world flew in and organizers saw more than 7,000 player registrations and a guaranteed prize pool $67,877,400. The WSOP will now make its way to Europe and the King’s Casino in Rozvadov will host the 2017 WSOPE.
King’s Casino is located in Rozvadov, Czech Republic and has a population of just 500 people. The town revolves around King’s Casino as it has the biggest poker room in Europe and is constantly hosting some of the best poker tournaments in Europe. King’s Casino owner Leon Tsoukernik expects the 2017 WSOPE to attract poker players from all over Europe and is confident that it will be one of the biggest events that the casino has hosted till date.
WSOPE Main Event Winner To Receive €1,000,000
As a result, Tsoukernik has decided to raise the guaranteed prize pool for the WSOPE Main Event from €4,000,000 to €5,000,000. The Main Event scheduled to take place from November 4th to 10th and the eventual winner will walk away with a guaranteed €1,000,000. The WSOPE will commence from October 19 and will be over when the Main Event winner is crowned on November 10. The WSOPE will feature as many as 11 gold bracelet events and has a number of exciting events scheduled during the three weeks.
In a statement, Tsoukernik said “We are encouraged by the number of early bookings for the WSOPE, so much so that we have raised the total guarantee of the Main Event to €5,000,000 and now guarantee €1,000,000 to the winner. My advice is to book now and secure your spot.”
Some of the exciting events include the opening event which is the Monster Stack No-Limit Hold’em event which has a buy-in of €1,100 and a guaranteed prize pool of €500,000; the THE COLOSSUS No-Limit Hold’em which has a buy-in of €550 and a guaranteed prize pool of €2,000,000 and the Little One for One Drop No-Limit Hold’em which has a buy-in of €1,100 and a guaranteed prize pool of €500,000.
WSOP Europe €111,111 High Roller
The Main Event will be the flagship event of the WSOPE but high stakes poker players will also be paying close attention to the WSOP Europe €111,111 High Roller event that commences on November 3. The buy-in for this high stakes poker event is fixed at €111,111 and the guaranteed prize pool is a cool €10,000,000. Some of the top poker players in the world such as Antonio Esfandiari, Fedor Holz, Phil Hellmuth, Tony G, Gus Hansen, Patrik Antonius and Liv Boeree have already signed up for the event.
Tsoukernik stated that a cap of 111 players has been fixed for the WSOP Europe €111,111 High Roller event and a total of 90 players have already registered. Tsoukernik who is also a poker player wanted to be a part of the High Roller event but due to the demand decided to give up his seat and donate his €111,111 buy-in to the One Drop foundation.
Some of the other events that feature at the 2017 WSOPE include Pot-Limit Omaha which is event number 2 and has a buy-in of €550; No-Limit Hold’em Super Turbo BOUNTY which has a buy-in of €1,100 and the Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better which takes place on Oct 31st and has a buy-in of €1,650            .
King’s Casino – Europe’s Top Poker Destination
King’s Casino has become one of the top casinos to host poker events in Europe and Tsoukernik has made plans to expand the casino floor to accommodate huge events like the 2017 WSOPE and also to provide accommodation to poker players who travel from all over the world. So far an additional 40 poker tables have been added a new hotel with 200 rooms is expected to open on August 10. King’s Casino will also play host to the first ever PokerStars Sunday Million Live tournament, the partypoker German Poker Championships and the PokerNews Cup which are scheduled to take place in August.
Tsoukernik stated that more than 250,000 poker players visited Rozvadov to take part in events hosted by King’s Casino and believes that that number will double once King’s Casino completes their extensive expansion plans.
