I'm going to be gone for the rest of the month. I've got personal things to take care of, including a funeral, so poker is going to be the last thing on my mind for awhile.
The truth is, poker hasn't been the first thing on my mind for quite some time now. Most of you in the forums have noticed that I don't post nearly as much anymore, especially when it comes to hand analysis, which is the bread and butter of becoming a better player (developing your analytical abilities, that is). There's been a number of reasons why I've become disinterested, but to squash any rumors that might start, I have not been running bad or am losing money. My bankroll is still very strong, I can still play my "A" game when it comes to poker and otherwise have no issues on the green felt.
I guess what I'm trying to say, without prolonged rambling, is that poker isn't for me anymore. Seven years of playing hold'em is quite some time in my life, considering I stick with hobbies for about five years on average before I move onto something else. Since poker dealt with money, it was a bit different, because it tied into real life. That all said though, for me, poker wasn't ever truly about the money as much as it was about the challenge. It would be a lie to say that I no longer find poker challenging, because no two games are ever the same and require skill to win consitently. That said, I no longer feel the drive I once did to master the game like I did once before. I believe this is why most professionals play many variants, to keep themselves sharp and learning.
Maybe this was where I went wrong, but I really know that I'm quitting for other reasons. Reasons that I don't really want to get into here, because they're my own personal opinions on poker, life and the big picture, so I won't turn this into my personal soap box.
In any regards, I will finish the project I've been working on forever, the new replayer will be out, I will get those articles out and will still drop by the forums occasionally, but otherwise you will see much less of me than you already do (which really, hasn't been all that much anyways.)
Not the one to enjoy being so somber, I would like to add one last bit to congratulate Heids, yet again, for taking down a 2nd place win in a multi-table tournament over at Poker Room, for a cool $7,000. For those of you who don't know as well, Heids also offers poker tournament lessons for a very reasonable rate, so take advantage of him while you can before he gets too rich to care 🙂 (PM me or him on the forums if you are interested).
Anyhow, while this isn't goodbye, it's certainly been a fun (and profitable) ride. But now, I have to take care of my life and focus on the things that matter to me the most. Take care all.

This site has now been switched over to the tightpoker.com domain, so no more funny looks when you explain exactly what the name of this site is anymore. A lot of updates are coming in through the pipes, first of which is the bonus hunting guide, which has a minor update concerning the new rake structure at Caribbean Sun and Interpoker. An article on Ace/King is making it's way through, reviews of various sites, a 'realistic' pot odds page and lastly, a page about being a Party Poker affiliate.

The forum has been having issues lately, especially with new registrations, but I believe it's all been fixed now. I'm also going to try to get a number of new poker articles and guides up sometime this month, as I'm finally finding some free time. I might even post some histories of some cash games, which I know has been in demand, since this site is really geared toward the Party Poker single table tournaments more than anything.
In addition, I'm going to be switching this entire site over to the tightpoker.com domain soon, to take care of a number of issues, so don't be surprised if you see that switch sometime by the end of the week. More poker things to come.
