J.C. Tran, who has had a history in recent years of not quite being able to get over the hump in World Poker Tour events, has been vindicated, being named WPT Player of the Year for Season V.

Counting both preliminary and championship events, Tran reached eight final tables, winning an amazing half of them.He finally captured his first WPT championship event title in Reno, Nevada, winning the World Poker Challenge.
