There is nothing that Isaac Haxton does not know about the poker game, industry, and community. Poker players know him as a formidable opponent both at online and live poker games. All serious poker players, and particularly the online poker pros, know Isaac Haxton, popularly known as Ike. This morning, it was announced at the end of a Guess Who contest organized by Team PokerStars that Haxton will soon be moving in and becoming a part of Team PokerStars.

Speaking about it, Haxton said, “I’m not just playing for myself. I’m representing a team and a brand. That brings new opportunities and also new responsibilities.”

PokerStars first came across Haxton back in 2007 when he was playing the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA). He beat hundreds of PCA opponents, reached the final table, and finished as the runner-up of the event while Ryan Daut emerged as the champion. Soon Haxton built a solid poker reputation and a colossal poker bankroll.

Dustin Iannotti, manager for PokerStars Team Online, said, “Ike Haxton is one of online poker’s greatest ambassadors, and he chose to sign with Team Online because he has always believed in PokerStars as a great poker company. I’m thrilled to have him on the team.”

Although Haxton is more fond of playing online poker and is every inch a professional online poker player, his live poker success is breathtaking. During the last six years, Haxton’s live poker winnings have crossed the $4 million target. In 2007, he emerged as the runner-up of the PCA Main Event and collected $861,789; in 2008, he finished sixth in the European Poker Championships £20,000 High Roller event and won $188.603; in 2009, he finished second in the WSOP $40,000 40th Anniversary Event High Roller and won $1,168,565; in 2011, he finished third in the $100k High Roller Bellagio Five Diamond World Poker Classic and won $581,806; and in 2012, he finished third in the PCA $25k High Roller event and won $380,730. This is just a small portion of the cash prizes Haxton has won over the years, playing a wide range of live and online poker events.

Hinting at something that PokerStars is on the verge of introducing, he said, “I can’t give you full details just yet, but we’re going to have a very cool high stakes heads-up no-limit event coming soon.”

Six years back, nobody was aware of Haxton, but today he is among the top high-stakes players and heads-up experts.
