The iPoker Network is all set to launch the fourth edition of its popular tournament series, called iPoker Online Poker Series (iPOPS), which will be held between April 21 and May 5 of this year. Poker players interested in the iPOPS can look forward to 17 exciting poker events and plenty of satellite qualifiers.
This year’s iPOPS event will be divided into two series of tournaments—side events and major events. The event bears a striking similarity to PokerStars’ Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP), which will be held soon. The side events will be similar to the major events, but will have lower buy-ins for the benefit of players with smaller bankrolls. They will not be run simultaneously with the major events, but will all be run in the first week; and the major events will be run after the side events. However, the iPOPS Main Event, which will have a buy-in of $200+$15 and a guaranteed prize pool of $500k, will not have any side event.
The side events also serve as qualifiers to the major events. The finalists of each side event will gain a free seat to the iPOPS IV Main Event. The iPoker Network will also organize mega satellite qualifiers to give players an opportunity to qualify for the iPOPS IV Main Event, scheduled to be held on May 5. A qualifier will be run every Sunday till April 26, after which daily qualifiers will be held till April 28th and again on May 2 and on May 4. The buy-ins to these qualifier satellites are in the range of $25 + $2.50 to $80 + $8. Each satellite guarantees free entries ranging from 20 to 100 to the corresponding major events. Low buy-in satellites will also be held to give players a chance to qualify for the mega satellites.
Those who take part in these qualifier satellites will be rewarded with leader board points based on the buy-in size. If players win, they will receive double points.
iPOPS IV side events will be held from April 21 to April 27 with buy-ins ranging from $2+$0.2 to $100+$9. The iPOPS IV major events will be held from April 28 to May 5, with buy-ins ranging from $20+$2 to $350+$20. Both sets of tournaments include high roller events; the high roller side event will be held on April 22 and the high roller major event will be held on April 29.
