iPoker Network to Sponsor New Caribbean Poker Tour

The Caribbean Poker Tour, an exciting new live poker tournament series, will be held in St. Maarten and Punta Cana, two exotic islands in the Caribbean, from Nov 8 to Nov 14, 2013. The official partners of the Caribbean Poker Tour are William Hill and iPoker Network. William Hill Poker and skins on the iPoker Network will be running a number of qualifiers and satellites to the event and will be giving away generous prize packages.

The poker tour will comprise a $1,500 buy-in Main Event in Punta Cana and a $1,650 buy-in Main Event in St. Maarten. Besides, a $7k buy-in Lucky Number Seven High Roller Tournament will also be organized with Tobias Reinkemeier as the host. The event will also include a large number of cash games and side events and will coincide with the $3,500 World Poker Tour (WPT) Caribbean Stop.
The founder fathers of the Caribbean Poker Tour are Thomas Kremser, Leon Groenewoud, and Alex Teufel. The poker tour is a brand belonging to ICU Events, a company that belongs to the trio. Kresmer, a poker tournament director of international fame, has been the director of various internationally acclaimed poker tours such as the European Poker Tour (EPT), the WPT, and the Late Night Poker, to mention just a few.
ICU Events says: “The concept of ICU Events is offering an incomparable service in advance and during the event, in the poker room or away from the poker tables. The Caribbean Poker Tour is offering a terrific service – on the website everybody can customize his trip. Choose hotel, activities, tournaments and flights for themselves and friends and create their own package, just a few clicks away.”
Surprisingly, PokerStars is not one of the sponsors of the Caribbean Poker Tour. Recently, PokerStars has been one of the dominating sponsors of live poker tournaments such as the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) and the EPT, but the online poker company has nothing to do with the Caribbean Poker Tour.
Ever since major poker rooms Everest Poker and Betfair Poker joined the iPoker Network, the online poker network has witnessed significant growth. In the first quarter of the fiscal year 2014, Ladbrokes is likely to migrate to the iPoker Network. Being the largest online poker network in the industry, iPoker will be expected to give extra value to poker room operators, and its sponsorship deal with the Caribbean Poker Tour will definitely make its skins happy.
