Announcing Season 9 of High Stakes Poker, PokerGO Vice President Mori Eskandani said they are thrilled to bring the game in its purest form for poker fans to enjoy. The Poker Hall of Famer said the latest season will capture the traditional authenticity of the show which debuted back in 2006.

The latest season of High Stakes Poker is headlined by poker legends Daniel Negreanu, Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan, and Patrik Antonius. The tandem of Gabe Kaplan and A.J. Benza is also back, calling the action behind the mic.

BEST SEASON YET
Eskandani said the upcoming season is arguably the best season yet, showcasing poker in its purest form at breathtaking stakes which will be enjoyed by poker fans and enthusiasts around the world. The star-studded line-up comprised of top poker pros who were regulars at the show back in the day will surely excite the fans.
Apart from that, the latest season was also taped in a revamped set to highlight the authenticity associated with the iconic show, plus the $50,000 bricks of cash will also make a comeback.
High Stakes Poker began in 2006, with its first episodes airing on the Game Show Network (GSN). It was one of the world’s most popular poker shows, featuring some of the greatest poker players of all time. GSN stopped airing the iconic show in 2011 when Black Friday occurred, forcing online poker operators, including PokerStars, to leave the US market.
In 2020, Eskandani, who was one of the original producers of High Stakes Poker, brought the show back on PokerGO. High Stakes Poker remains a hit among fans and spectators across the globe, and is even more popular now with Eskandani taking charge of the production. Under his watch, the show comes up with exciting line-ups which feature a combination of famous poker personalities as well as celebrities outside poker.
PokerGO will air a new episode every Monday starting February 21. You may catch the action via a paid PokerGO subscription.
DOYLE BRUNSON GRACES THE SHOW
The appearance of poker legend Doyle Brunson will be one of the major highlights of Season 9. Age is just a number for the Poker Hall of Famer who is also known as “Texas Dolly”. At 88, Brunson keeps his passion burning by still competing in high-stakes games.
Throughout his career which spans over five decades, Brunson has won 10 WSOP bracelets (second all-time tied with Ivey and Johnny Chan), and one World Poker Tour (WPT) title. In June 2018, he announced his retirement from tournament poker, but he is still seen competing at the live felts. Last year, he took part in the WSOP Main Event, much to the delight of poker players and fans at the Rio.
