The COVID-19 pandemic put an end to all live poker action in Las Vegas for months on end. While online poker boomed, the live poker market fizzled out and there were concerns from live poker operators if things would return to normal once live poker rooms started reopening in Las Vegas.
Live poker action has officially resumed in Las Vegas and poker operators are testing the waters! The world’s top poker destination is finally back in business, with plenty of major tournaments scheduled between June and July. Now, players can finally head back to the live felts to compete in huge tournaments taking place at multiple locations up and down the Strip.
While they will again miss out on a World Poker Series of Poker (WSOP) live festival at the Rio this summer, players can still enjoy top-notch action elsewhere, beginning with the Wynn Summer Classic which features a huge $10,000,000-guaranteed tournament.
Key Events at Wynn Summer Classic
The Wynn Summer Classic began on May 27 and features a jam-packed schedule of 30 events of different formats and buy-ins. The entire series guarantees more than $16 million in combined prize pool, $10 million of that will be awarded at the Wynn Millions which is set to run from June 25-July 3.
Wynn Millions – $10M GTD
The Wynn Millions is a no-limit Hold’em tournament with a buy-in of $10,000. Wynn Las Vegas is preparing 90 poker tables for the huge event, making it the biggest poker tournament ever hosted by the venue. This event features three starting flights, each having their own Day 2. Surviving players will gather on Day 3 to continue the action until a winner is crowned.
If you have been starved of high stakes poker action, then this is a great event to get you back in the game. If the COVID-19 situation has been harsh to your bankroll, then think about trying a few poker staking sites to see if you can find any financial backers who are willing to stake you for the Wynn Millions.
WPT Venetian – $3M GTD
If you don’t cash out at the Wynn Millions, you don’t have to wait long as the World Poker Tour is at the Venetian. You can take part in the $5,000 WPT Venetian which runs from July 2 to 7 and comes with a $3 million guaranteed prize pool. This tournament has three starting flights and registration to this event will be open till Level 9.
High stakes players who find the $10,000 buy-in to the Wynn Millions a little too high for their bankroll, should find the $5,000 WPT Venetian a lot more appealing. A lot more poker players are expected to take part in this event. However, if this buy-in is also a bit too high for you, don’t worry as there is a lot more poker action available.
Wynn Mystery Bounty – $1.5M GTD
You can head over to the Wynn to take part in the $1,600 Wynn Mystery Bounty event that will run from July 2 to 6 and comes with a $1.5 million guarantee. Do take the time to read the rules for this event as you need to be a Wynn Rewards member in order to take part. If you need any assistance, you can contact the Wynn Rewards assistance desk.
Wynn No Limit Hold’em – $1M GTD
Yet another 7 figure guaranteed prize pool is at offer at the Wynn. Players can take part in the $1,100 Wynn No Limit Hold’em event that is set to run from July 7 to July 9. Expect this event to see a lot more competition as the lower buy-in and the 7 figure prize pool is going to attract quite a crowd.
If you are not a high stakes poker player, don’t worry as there is a lot of low and medium stakes games taking place at Las Vegas poker rooms.
